Had to rush the sun pics since he had to rush off. I will get get some next time, but all rotary trails were removed from the trunk as well..

One more successful correction!!

Thanks for looking everyone. :buffing:

WOW, awesome job my friend:)

Very nice
What was your pad combo with the menz polishes?

Thanks guys :xyxthumbs:

I used a heavy cut pad (with quite some pressure) from my local store with with the fg400. I did about 5 passes per section on speed 5.5 and 6 for the deeper scratches and a polishing pad with the sf4000.. I need something with more cut than fg400 though. I am gonna look for some candidates to experiment with. I just love how the fg400 doesn't dust though. :/ Need more cut though. Or I may just need to step up to the 3401.

Great work,

I believe, M100 has more cut. More than M105. Never used fg400 though.

I used M100 on a MF pad and Rupes to remove 1500 grit. I then polished it with M205. Came out pretty nice.

Why do you think you need more cut?

Microfiber pads may get you where you're needing.

Or check out M100/M101.

Thanks brotha. I may try to M100. I love how the FG400 works in terms of work ability, low dust and damn near LSP ready after completion, but I have a secret bottle of compound that I had to use on a couple of stubborn spots that the 400 couldn't get out. So i just need to find something carried by Autogeek with a little more bang for those special times.

I actually have the Megs MF system. I used the MF cut pad with D300 and it worked well but I find myself reverting to the good old foam cut pad for a deeper cut. I will look into the M100/101 though.

MF and FG400 is a very solid combo as well.

Before I new about AGO. I was used to just body shop style.

I used my PC, 6" wool pad bonnet and 3M rubbing compound.

Any dust, I just washed it off. I was just taking my new equipment for a test drive lol.

I found 3M rubbing compound and M100 somewhat similar.

I always hear that 3M isn't designed for a DA. But I did it lol (unknowingly)

I also tried removing 1500 grit with a Rotary/wool pad and M105. I removed it but I had to turn up the speed of the Rotary. I was at 1800 I believe. So didn't like that about M105. Works really nice in polishing paint. But not so much for sanding marks.

So if removing sanding marks. Not just a 2"x2" sanding mark. I mean both Fenders, entire hood, bumper and doors.

I like to use 3M rubbing compound. (Because I am used to it) M100 worked nice, but only got to use it briefly, so can't really speak for it. (Yet...! :xyxthumbs: )

Great work on RG's car. Looks like it had a few more mods since last time I detailed it.

Yep, time to get a 3401 and some hybrid pads to go along with your FG400... :)

I will definitely give that a shot and report back with my thought. Thanks for the advice.

That's a great transformation brotha!! I tried that 3M rubbing compound about as LSP about 9 years ago when I had just started detailing.. LMAO.. did not give me the gloss i was hoping for.. hahaa.. I was a noob then. Looks like you had some great results with it. I will surely keep that in mind.

Yea brotha.. he added a C/F hood, trunk and rear bumper. I there was soo much crap on the new pieces. The clay bars were dumped after the job. lol. There were horrible rotary trails on the trunk and scratches all over the hood. He called me back after he got a chance to look at it in the sun. That was when he realized how much correction was done.

How are you liking the CG Butter Wet Wax? It looks great on the BMW!
I love the butter wet!! It goes on easy and comes off with almost no pressure. That on top of Duragloss 111 is killer. I used the DG Aquawax 952 for a while and loved the results, but I was blown away when i decided to test it on my black paint. Seems to attract less dust as well. The pics in the thread are not edited. They are all straight from my camera.

No problem. If you ever want to try anything out before buying it and I have it you're welcome to it, I'm in Vegas as well.

Sounds awesome!! I will have to get up with you one of these days.

Nice work. FG 400 is an excellent combo. I love FG 400, very low dust and great finish for a compound.

I called 3M and asked them if you can use 3M rubbing compound on a Porter Cable. They said I shouldn't because I can burn through the paint, using a DA. They said that a rotary would be a safer solution. :dunno:

Lol

M100 and 3M rubbing compound are very similar, IMO as far as the aggressiveness goes. Maybe when I go to another TNOG. I'll take some 3M rubbing compound and ask them if I could do a side by side test. They are really cool people, especially during TNOG.

Plus 3M is right across the street lol

Haha 3M rubbing compound as LSP :D

Great job, hideous rims.
Thanks a lot!! They look pretty good in person. :)

Yes.. I really love the no dust and its finishing ability. I will never not have it in my arsenal.

Hahaa.. wow.. shows how much they know huh.. obviously they didn't know what a DA buffer was.. lol

Nice work on that 335I,
was the clear hard or soft ? :dblthumb2:

Thank you sir!! I think clear is more in the middle in terms of hardness. I also have a Jet Black BMW but my clear is way softer.. maybe it is because my clear is 13 years old.. lol. The softest i have done to date was a Camaro and the hardest being an Audi. The 335i was right in the middle as it required some constant pressure to get the correction I wanted.
