The most over-rated products?

DP Wheel Glaze. Armour Spray Wheel Sealant is much better.

That's great to hear about #105 lasting that long, did you mix in #601 with it? Seems #501 has more cleaning agents in it so not sure how durable it is compared to #105, 101 or 111, I'll be watching and can't wait to do my full DuraGloss detail in the spring, thanks for the info!

No, in that particular instance, I didn't mix 601 with it (got lazt) but I was very happy when 6 months later it was still beading like a champ, even the glass. 501 I'm hoping will last just as long. Another added bonus, dirt and dust hardly stuck to the paint until the very end when it was diminishing, thus no need for washing all that frequently. I'm very hopeful the 501 will be even better.

I still need to add both by machine, just to see if there's any difference, but I doubt it at this point.

I see no gain using a machine with DG products, they go on so thin as it is and IMO, when applying thin, by hand is much better....and quicker, no need putting down the machine and having to pick it up again, back and fourth.

Only gain IMO would be the cleaning aspect of it, if you're wanting that extra cleaning ability, machine is the way to go.

Gee, based on this list almost everything is over - rated. This follows my thinking on expensive items. All hype and nuts.

The only thing I really see the difference in is polish and not that much either.

On a daily, outside 24/7, a coating of 105 lasted from last July until this past weekend. The car was washed maybe three times with ONR in that time period. It just got washed and coated with 501 this time, just to see how long it lasts. Everything was applied by hand.

That's great! I'm glad you got it to go that long. We had a rainstorm the other night that really seemed to kill the beading of my 105 for some reason. Rain here really seems to put the hurt on water beading no matter what prep is used.

With my DD that's topped with 501/105, a simple rinse with the hose knocks off probably 70% of the dirt and dust. The rest is easily washed away with a wash mitt with barely any pressure at all.

Yes, I've noticed the lack of dirt sticking to DG105/501 also, that's why I like it so much. If it's going to rain, it doesn't even bother me anymore, I know it'll still look good afterwards.

Sno Brum. Cheap material. I don't like it at all. I prefer regular snow brush with bristles.

Good to know that DG 105 works well for others too. I put on Christmas and it still looks good. I use OCW every weekend as a booster after a DG rinse less wash and have been thinking if I should switch to QD instead.

Boars hair brush! $70 of swirls, guaranteed every time!

That's great to know
You need a light touch when using a boar's hair brush. I use it to remove the really big dirt that can scratch most, and I get into the nooks and crannies. I then rinse and wash it again with a microfiber mitt, pressing hard enough to remove all the dirt. If you only wash a car once with a boar's hair brush and try to get it perfectly clean, you are likely to get swirls. You should sweep gently with a boar's hair brush.

+1 on the Jetseal. I bought it, used it once and never used again. There are many many better offerings out there for the $$$

:iagree::iagree:

Way over-rated and over-priced.

:iagree: Griots Speed Shine

Griot's best of show liquid wax is the most overrated griots product I've ever owned and it looks terrible on white cars. I think it's worse than speed shine.I used to buy tons of griots stuff around 12 to 13 years ago until I found better stuff elsewhere.
