The most toxic product you have used/use

FUNX725, on wheel cleaners, while I'm sure Sonax and others are fine products, I've had good luck with Detailer's Pro Wheel cleaner (and I generally even dilute it 50-50). Does your MSDS repository have an MSDS (or link) on that product? I can't seem to find MSDS's for Detailer's Pro products at all.

In all my years (I'm 70), I would really hate to even try and remember what sort of 'stuff' I've used or exposed to.

I now use a LOT of caution with questionable solutions of ANY KIND. I probably use more 'gloves' than a proctologist nowadays.

One thing is for sure you should always ware gloves when detailing.

Lesson learned 2 weeks ago when i got chemical poisioning from M105. Was working with it on a BMW, owner ordered Potbelly's, both of us ate the same sandwich and i was the one who got sick. Next day it came to me that i must have had M105 on my hands and went all out on the sandwich, fingerlicking good and did not wash hands. Boy, that was a fun night

Sorry...You'll have to look to the manufacturer for this product's MSDS.
Did you request one when you purchased this wheel cleaner?

I tried (that's what "I can't seem to find..." in my original message was intending to say but I could have been clearer). Detailer's Pro seems to be a stealth company. Can't find a website or contact info. I bought it from AG (there are no MSDS links from AG product pages and to answer your 2nd question, no) and it seems somehow affiliated with AG, but all the other affiliated brands at least have websites. If Google can't find it, it doesn't exist

Nick@Autogeek : if you're looking in, does AG have an MSDS repository page for all products sold (or at least the ones made by brands directly affiliated with AG and that need an MSDS)?

If not, would you guys consider doing that? The forum members could help populate it with links to MSDS's and even if it took a year or more before it was filled in, that would be a useful resource.

-Someday MSDS's will be available for all consumer products,
including those for "detailing".

-3M/Meguiar's, for example, are leading the pack in this regard.

I feel like I'm going to drop dead if my nose gets too close to Sonax FE when using it. It smells and looks toxic but works really well which only makes me more suspect of getting too close.

Over here, the problem is not that the products do not fall within the regulations, it is that some of the brands are run by people with no actual knowledge of the chemical industry. They think they can get away with not following the rules. Unfortunately the evidence suggests that they are right. I could make a list of detailing 'brands' which breach EU and international chemical regulations but I couldn't name a single one which has actually suffered as a result.

The truth is that most users don't give a darn. As long as they have the product which some high profile detailer has been seen to be using, they don't give two toots about anything else.
