The OFFICIAL Duragloss Enviroshild review thread, everyone!

If you cover that coating with anything...you're wasting your time and money. The designer himself said its designed to be a stand alone LSP. No topping. Put that other stuff in a box.
 
Sorry guys about the post with no photo. I tried using the AG app to post it the first time, then deleted the post. Then I went back and tried Tapatalk itself (and it acted like it was uploading the photo).

Surgery early in the morning so I'll not be doing it for a few days.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get some shots uploaded to my library and get it done RIGHT. ;)

Oh well.... I *REALLY* need to try to get a couple hours sleep before heading to the hospital.

Sorry, the car is not worthy of any sun shots.

I was disappointed with the sheeting ability. The sheeting was rather slow.
 
The gloss of the paint on the Buick is VERY NICE! Sorry your sheeting expectations aren't what you hoped for. How many coats did you apply?

Yes. I am happy with the gloss and the feel. It's pretty slick. Washing and drying was easy. I applied it last weekend and have been driving it to work every day. Not much dirt, if any, was on the car when I washed it. It's just all this darn pollen that is driving me crazy.

I applied two coats. I let the first coat cure 24 hours and then applied the second coat.

I did use UWW+ once during the week to remove some light pollen. I wonder if that affected the sheeting. I am thinking of doing an IPA wipe down to see if the sheeting will get better.

Will IPA remove any of the polymers left from UWW+, I wonder?

I am going try it anyway and will let you know the results.

After coating a sedan once, is there enough product to coat the car the second time?
 
Here is the sheeting action after the first wash.

Applied first coat, waited 24 hours to cure, applied second coat the following day.

Waited one week before first wash. This is the sheeting after washing with with Duragloss Car Wash #901

Not very good sheeting.
 
That's not what I wanted to see. Very disappointed. Coatings are synonymous with incredible sheeting ability.
 
That's what I was wondering too. So I did an IPA wipe down on half of the hood to check the difference, but I got the same results.

I'm assuming the IPA wipe down would have removed anything left behind from the UWW+, which was applied a few days ago.

Don't get me wrong, the car shines real nice and feels real smooth. I was just hoping for tighter beading and nice sheeting action.

Don't know about the beading but I am sure the UWW is still there and that is why the sheeting is not what you expected. The only thing I have ever seen with beading is the likelihood of water spots.

Okay. Just for comparison (and fun). I topped the passenger side of the hood with CarPro Reload. Never used it before. I picked it up with some CQUK during AG Easter sale.

Drivers side is still the DGNCC. I wanted to see the difference between the two.

I'm impressed with Reload! I only let it sit for about 15 minutes before testing the sheeting.
 
Tomorrow I am going to hit the Reload side with UWW+ and see what the results are. Just to see if that is what screwed up the sheeting.

I don't think your prep was good if it's sheeting and beading like that. Did you use squeaky clean?

I have part of my car coated with cquartz. It's pretty slow to sheet but not that slow. The side I used reload on top of cquartz sheets like crazy and it's lasted over 3 months with no sign of diminishing.

Yes, I used Squeaky Clean...

How could prep be the issue if the Reload side sheets like crazy and all I did was apply it over the previous prep work?

So if the prep work was bad, then the Reload side should not sheet as well either. Make sense?

I am going to try something tomorrow...

1. Apply UWW+ to the Reload side and see if it mutes the sheeting. If it does, then I will know that is the culprit. If it doesn't, then I will try step 2.

2. Apply a fresh coat of DGNCC to the right side of the hood and see if a fresh coating will change the sheeting behavior.
