The OFFICIAL Duragloss Enviroshild review thread, everyone!

No need to use Squeaky Clean again, especially a couple weeks later. A good wash and inspection of the paint surface is a good idea as you could get some grit from environmental fallout and the like. See this is where and why I love the Speedy Prep towel, while doing a rinseless wash you could spray some extra pre-wash and then wipe w/ Speedy Prep towel. Its better to be safe than sorry.

I respectfully disagree. The polymers from the rinseless could adversely affect coat bonding To be sure use Squeaky, Eraser, etc.

Thanks richy!! :props:

Nothing white that I know of yet. I will be coating my wife's Dodge Journey here shortly but it's a White pearl color. I don't see why it wouldn't be safe for your wheels. Send an email to Durogloss and ask! :)

Also, never apply with temps > 90 degrees. They flash too fast

I was told via an email from Bill @ Duragloss that I could use their rinseless wash to maintain the DGNCC, so using it inbetween coat #1 and #2 or even a third coat shouldn't hurt anything but I would use the Speedy Prep towel along with the rinseless wash as a pre-wash/lube for the Speedy Prep useage.

As far as slickness goes, I still feel the difference everytime I use my DG rinseless!

I also respectfully disagree. Anytime you're coating paint and it has been out in the elements, you need to ensure a proper bond...that means at most clay and SC or just SC alone. Why risk wasting your time and product??
Not to undermine what Bill says, but I've coated A LOT of cars. Do what you think is right.

I thought that after say 2 wks a good wash and wipedown with the Speedy Prep towel would be enough, especially on a well maintained, garage kept DD. I would think SC might wear down the paint coating a bit. That said, this is exactly what a thread like this is all about, good info!

I agree there has been some good info added to this thread lately. Have not had a chance to use mine yet. I read that it is recommended to not use aquawax for ~6 months. Do you guys think I should pick some up for future use? The reason I ask is there is a member on another forum offering me a gallon of it. I do have a bottle of 931.

He also has a gallon of 932. Or should I just get both from him.

Get both. Mix that 932 as a QD as it has Aqua Wax in it.

I would get it...im planing on using mine sooner than six months after aopkication to experiment

Yeah I was told by Bill @ DG to wait 6 monthes to use AW. Bill went on to say it will help darken the color at that point. I'm no chemist but once it cures what happens in that 6 monthes that makes it "ok" to use AW I wonder?

I realize we're going around in circles on this, but wasn't his quote a little more like "you shouldn't need to top it for 6 months". I'm not going to go back through the thread but I got the impression he was a little insulted at someone not being happy with his latest and greatest and wanting to top it right away--that he felt the coating should be "like new" for six months and shouldn't need anything--which is of course the point and the selling point for a coating. (just my impressions of what I recall being posted about these emails/conversations)

I sent Bill the emails and none of them had a slant to them that he was insulted, maybe others though but I'd be surprised at that.

I'm sure others will top the DGNCC and we'll see what they say, I've only washed the car with DG rinseless so far and its kinda ironic that it does have AW in it, LOL!

Its obvious he meant you won't need to boost it for up to six months...not don't top it. Good lord, topping it won't hurt it either.

Let's put this to rest....want to top it...?...then knock yourself out but it won't improve it and isn't needed. Its not that difficult to understand. Enough already.

Yea...Goodness Gracious!
Just spray it down with some Hydro2!!

***UPDATE***

I agree this back and fourth has gone on long enough, LOL, so getting my car ready for the Chicagoland Detail Day tomorrow, after doing a DG rinseless outside and cleaning the wheels real good, dressing the tires w/ Pinnacle Black Onyx, pulling it inside for a quick vac and spraying the wheelwells down with AA (yes, I said AA, its good for that) I applied a coat of AQUA WAX to the car!!!

Not that the car looked or felt bad, not by any stretch of the immagination but you know that scene in "Spinal Tap" where Nigel says, "...but these go to 11!", well, I wanted the finish to go 11 and I'm sure it will when I pull it out and head out tomorrow. That's the funny thing about AW, later on down the road it seems to look even better, hence the 11 reference. Now I wanna see "Spinal Tap", LOL! I even did all the windows and parts of the engine bay, i.e. engine cover, battery, intake tubes and rad shroud area, etc..

I'm no authority by any means but the car has 2 coats of DGNCC and I was going to add a 3rd coat when it hits warm weather again but guess what, for now its good to go and that 3rd coat will have to wait for going into the fall. So FWIW, apply that AW to your coated ride and stand back and enjoy even more shine....I will!!

I give you credit for trying that and honestly reporting on it! I love spraying UWW, ReLoad or AW on my coatings!!

The list is growing!

I should also say that at our recent Chicagoland Detail Day I actually tried the "baggie test" and guess what, mine failed and I used the Speedy Prep towel fine grade, so the day after I clayed my car (it passed the baggie test) and I re-washed it and used AW as a drying aid for the 1st time, so its all good once again. I think the Speedy Prep towel will be used once a month as a maintence item now or use the "baggie test" after using it on every car I do from now on, probably the later!

I did a rinseless wash w/ Speedy Prep towel wipe, then a GG clay barring, next up Squeaky Clean and finally a single coat of DGNCC on my buddy Hectour's 2014 Mazda 3 sedan. I will be going over there tomorrow to apply the 2nd coat as well as applying Collinite #476 to all glass. It was about 75 degrees and I applied it in his garage, WHAT A DREAM TO APPLY!
