What is it? The one product you must have in your detailing arsenal?
For all intents and purposes, let's assume that Grit Guards, buckets, and water are provided. :D

From Start to Stop - pick one.

Me? Meguiars APC+

P.S. Give us a link to the AutoGeek store if you find it there.

This is one I would have to pass on.
While I do have favorites, I do think I could switch to any of dozens of products and probably get good results.
For me, it's less a case of finding a product to use and more of a problem deciding which of several to use.
We are extremely fortunate to have such a wide selection of really good products at reasonable prices.

Daytona Wheel Brush and DP Final Gloss, sorry was too hard to pick one!

Thats a tough question. I've purchased ALOT from AG in the last few months. So I have several brands of each product (qd, shampoo, wash media, wheel cleaner), but for the sake of conversation I would say Cobra WW (including the WW window towel)

foam gun --- since thats were you start, the washing stage and then many additional items from there.

Lowe's Proline Grout Sponge. It's so soft and rinses so clean. I love how the color makes it easy to see if there's anything on it contaminating it. Plus, it holds lots of water/suds/soap. I don't think I'll ever go back to sheepskin or other wash mitts. (I do use a chenille mitt for the very lowest parts of the car.) And the price is certainly right! When you wear one out, it's only $2 for a new one.

Red Mist! mmm I just got it two weeks ago and cant put it down!

just 1 favorite... damn... have to be Fuzion then lol

VISA card! :D

See ya.

Gatorade or I will Blackout from the heat in South Florida.

without a doubt, microfiber towels. these come in contact with the paint just about the most and not having quality ones, means swirls, scratches, etc...

I would have to agree with Microfiber for the overall winner, with APC a close second. You could clean the whole car with just these 2 products.

The other product I use on ALL my details is Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection, for cleaning and splatter wiping, as well as a QD.

no doubt, it would be: Mike Philips :xyxthumbs:

A long time ago I'd have been happy with a gas station drive-thru wash. After getting my new car and wanting it to shine like crazy nuts shine, I googled and came across his postings/articles on MOL. Haven't stopped buying/trying/testing items yet...without knowing what something does or how something works, I'd have never gone past applying wax incorrectly and getting frustrated stage.

A physical product would be CG EZCreme II. Any glaze really, but that's my favorite at the moment, with a 2nd nod to Blackfire gloss enhancing polish. When it comes down to it, glaze + cheap wax looks better than no glaze + expensive lsp on the curves of my red car.

Pad Washer

If I was working full time in a body shop wet-sanding, cutting and buffing fresh paint I would go with the System 2000 as I think it it's built-in spur helps clean and fluff wool cutting pads when predominately using a rotary buffer.

Built-in spurs help to fluff fibers of a wool pad which also enable spent buffing residue to rinse out.

If I were working full-time as a detailer I would go with the Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer as I think it works well for wool pads but works better for cleaning foam pads with any kind of tool.
