Well it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to bum a ride to the airport (DFW), so my baby is going to sit in airport parking for 7-days.

I'm not too concerned about hail. What concerns me is bird crap. Is it worth the extra money for covered parking? It's about $40 more for the week. However, depending on the structure it may lead to birds loitering around which defeats the purpose.

My car has a 3-week old detail job with two coats of Ultima Paint Guard Plus and a coat of Wolfgang Fuzion.

Any thoughts?

Good idea, but a little pricey when you live out in the boondocks :(

Starting to see a pattern.

You have to weigh your options. $$$ or possible etchings. It's your car.:)

I'd gladly pay too if I knew the parking structure wouldn't end up being worse. A lot of times the ceiling rafters end up being bird sanctuaries. I guess I'll just have to try it out and see!

Unlike, for instance, luggage/baggage surcharges...

-Bird crap is just one of the many "contaminates"...
(like jet fuel, door-dingers, petty/grand-theft auto participants)...
That's offered as: No extra charges...when parking at an Airport...
whether it be 'covered' or open.

I'm with VT:

Another way I'd like to say it is:
-Taxi there...
-Confirm a plan to bum a ride back

I would take the open air risk BUT I would make sure to park far far away from any trees, lamp posts, or structures.

I have read a few places that many birds poop just before or just after takeoff to lighten their load before a flight. Consider that when parking. Anywhere birds can hang out is a place they'll have a more dense poop radius.

So no parking near trees, posts, tall SUVs with roof racks...

I use remote covered parking with a shuttle service. No dings, bombs, etc.

The parking spot and park n fly are a couple I use in Dallas.

In Dallas you seldom return to the same terminal you left from. So the curbside pick up is a plus...

I don't think bird crap will ruin your car paint in a week.Worst case scenario if it deos may need a little polishing in those areas.Give uber a shot.my wife went to md Anderson in Houston ,from airport by cab to hotel was 80.00 uber going back to airport was 25.00 it's a no brainer.

GSKR is correct, bird bomb isn't going to etch in one week, especially if it's not in sunlight. And like G says, a little polish and reapply the sealant will do the trick.
Personally, I travel quite a bit and will actually be gone for a week coming up soon. For me, I use UBER or a car-service.

I like it because it makes the trip more relaxing. I can kick back, listen to some tunes, surf Autogeekonline.net on my iPhone, get dropped off at the departures, and go right in. Same for the pickup ride home. I don't have to tie a car up at the airport, worry about door dings, etc... or pay the ridiculous fees to park there. One week at Logan can easily be over $350.00.

Travel is stressful enough, why add more stress to it???
