The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

A few. They look better in person, but I can't get behind that front end. Looks droopy.

I can understand, that front end isn't for everyone but I'm very appreciative when mfgs "go out on a limb" with styling. It's better than "play it safe" i.e. the C8, nothing stands out there at all....IMHO. I'll take that yellow Supra w/ some dark matte bronze Volk TE37's and at that point just call it a day over the C8

Spotted this little rare ride 2 weeks ago when I moved into my new place, so while going for a walk I had to make my way down there for a couple pics. Years ago he had a bug eye Sprite there, so this guy has something unique rides

Finally found some trails not far from home to try out. According to the manual you're meant to use 4WD high range for about half an hour every month, to ensure everything stays lubricated. Any excuse to get out and play. It seems with the coating I have on it, only the really solid mud sticks, all the really liquid stuff just runs off. View attachment 70107View attachment 70108

I retrieved the Blue Car from storage this afternoon, something I have been looking forward to for a week.

I then took this bird out for a chance to spread it's wings.

Now sitting at home on the battery tender, ready for a detail therapy session tomorrow morning. Can't wait!

How in the hell did these not make it to the States, what a shame....on 2nd thought, probably a good idea, we'd ask for body cladding and lift it 6" in the air and call it an SUV, oh yeah, probably put a 1.6L EcoBoost in it too

Not Invented Here syndrome. There were many attempts from Ford Australia over the years to export the Falcon but it never got off the ground. I suspect there was a lot of internal rivalry that prevented exports.

Funny you mention SUV's. Recognizing the Australian public was gravitating towards SUV's in the late 90's, Ford took the Falcon platform and created an family sized SUV called the Territory, released mid 2004. What they created was a an incredibly well received vehicle that combined some of the Falcon's best features (engine, chassis dynamics) within an on trend SUV body. It was a bit of a pioneer at the time, Ford acknowledging that buyers didn't necessarily need four wheel drive and the associated running costs, offering the Territory in both rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It was also lower than most comparable SUV's at the time. Ford also created an interior catering to family life, storage compartments were a big draw-card as was it's seven seat layout. So impressed with Ford Australia's new take on a large family car, Ford US followed suit with the Edge.

Towards the end of Ford's manufacturing in Australia, the Territory ended up out-selling the Falcon, cementing Australia's shift from big sedans to big SUV's.

(Sorry for the Australian history lesson.)

Ahh, that's the one.
It was based off of the Volvo platform and was basically a Ford 500 wagon w/o being lifted. 3.0L 24v DOHC and CVT.

Sounds scintillating

I drove the Mustang to work today. It made my drive home at the end of the day just a little bit special.

And the best news? I now have an excuse to wash this week!

Same here!
I’ve had the car over two years and just recently gained the confidence to polish and thoroughly detail it to my OCD level of satisfaction.

She’s actually dirty in this photo.
I start the initial polishing process this weekend and will be taking my time. I find the toughest part of detailing is deciding on which LSP to use.

Also, this is my debut post to the forum.

I see you made it down to Florida, Dmig!

Thanks Paul, I’ve been down about a month now. Been HOT everyday but I’m enjoying it so far despite all going on. We’ve spent a lot of time with our parents and that’s the most important thing for us.

It was a hard ride considering my cruising speed of 60-65 mph means my rpms are around 3200 rpm. Did that for about 20 hrs. straight, it really impressed me.Also of note is first gen Miatas have a “wobble” or “rattle” at that exact speed hahaha.

Wife had a much easier ride down considering her cars only a few years old and has a much nicer cruising rpm at that 60-65 range 1600-1800 rpms.
