The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Just a question about your cars. What year is and what engines are in the xr6 and xr8?

Really like that Xr8. Reminds me of the Chevy SS... the taurus SHO wasn’t cutting it

As the name suggests, the XR6 is powered by a 4.0 Inline 6 (Barra), mine is the 265 hp naturally aspirated version but Ford also made a turbo version with up to 435 hp. These engines were unique to the Australian market with an iron block and DOHC alloy head.

The final XR8's were fitted with a supercharged 5.0 V8 with up to 500 hp. These engines were hand assembled in Australia from imported Ford Coyote blocks, heads and reciprocating parts. The supercharger, inlet and exhaust systems were all locally developed. Each engine was engraved with engine builders initials, "SV" in my case.

As mentioned, the XR8 was the Ford competitor to the Holden Commodore SS (Chevy SS).

I’m a mustang fan but that xr8 whooh! Yeah the sho only had 365hp from a twin turbo v6.... love that car.

Except for the chargers and cadillac V- series not much choice for performance sedans... still got some european and japenese options but price are a little out of my budget.

Many days parked at the beach had my Soul covered in dried salt spray. Rain is coming this weekend, but I thought it’d be best to wash it off. Sometimes it’s just a sprinkle, and thoughts of reactivated salt spray running halfway down the car and drying...well, maybe I’m paranoid.

Ethos Foam Party pre-wash
Xtreme Suds and a dash of CarPro HydrO2 Foam

Last month, I did a coating cleanse with an Iron Remover and after the wash/dry, touched up the car with Topper. The gloss was off the charts.

Come on over!!!! I live in NC, only a couple hours away!

I wish I could move down south That garage looks warm and inviting! My car hasn't been washed in 2 weeks and not sure about next weekend at this point either. I have safe drive thru carwash to go to and that's where it's going when I get my next chance. It needs every nook and cranny flushed out, including underbody wash. No spinning brushes, just side to side long strips, lots of soap and rinse, heated/blown dry. Now when I get it home I might do a good cleaning of the tires and rims as they deserve it, plus I've gotta try the Auto Glym tyre gel

The day after I brought it home a couple months ago. I knew it needed tires so I painted the wheels and bought new tires the next day. Then the fun began...

coming up on one month left before she goes bye bye and after 34 months, GYEON Syncro is still kicking strong.

Now of course it's been a month plus since her last wash and the layer of grime and salt is keeping the water from standing tall but it's clear the layers of coating are still going strong. Skin has faded off over the years but the 2 layers of Mohs are still working. I'll likely clean her up next week and will post up "real" clean car beading pics after all this time but overall, I'm very pleased with how the Syncro product has performed and lasted in a four season environment.

Believe it or not, I went off roading yesterday. It rained the whole time, lots of big mud puddles everywhere. But almost none of it stuck, there's a little bit on rock sliders, and some on the wheels. I guess the Collinite (paint) and Meg's Quikwax (trim) is still working. View attachment 72264
