Finished work early so I could sneak some time with the XR6.
I took it out to and along my favorite road. This little stretch of road snakes around farms and orchards with some nice fast turns and even a hairpin bend. It gives me a chance to safely drive the car with some aggression, testing the brakes, tyres, engine and gearbox. Clearly this road was designed by someone who liked driving and seems somewhat out of place with all the agricultural land around it. Sometimes I like to just cruise, leaving the gearbox in 3rd or 4th, allowing the engine to spin and waft from corner to corner. Today, the red mist descended though and we learnt that the standard Falcon brakes don't like to be worked too hard for too long  Nothing bad happened but you do certainly need to be aware these things fade pretty easily and need to be driven with that in mind.
While I tend to spend more time detailing my cars than actually driving them, when I do decide to get them moving, I enjoy every second.
