Nice, they're very popular over here too, waiting times over a year last I heard.

Rotator cuff injuries can be very painful, years ago I was thrown on to my shoulder, martial arts misshap, and ended up with a bruised rotator cuff and deep tissue damage. I couldn't drive with both hands on the wheel because of the pain, I had to let my right arm hang straight down, luckily I'm left handed. My brother said I was actually lucky, most people break their collar bone when they land the way I did. I can't recommend acupuncture either, It was suggested but I don't think it helped at all.

Thanks, have wanted one for a while. Hard to find a rust free, low mile unit that hasn't been beat. Going to try Bare bones for the first time on the undercarriage after I clean it up.

Nice FJ, I also admired them for a while before finding the right one at the right price. What year is yours? Mine is a 2011, and I've just ticked over 223,000 km, I've had it for nearly 7 years, and I still don't want anything else as my daily driver.

It was clean this morning but I went and filled it up, decided to take the long (fun) way home only to find roadworks, a different kind of fun.

thanks. I really like the look of these too. They're TRD 16" that came on the Trail Teams edition that year. I'm running BFG 285/75/16 KO2's on them right now.

nice looking FJ you have there, especially with your mods.

Mine's a 2013 Trail Teams edition in Cement Gray. 70k miles. I found out on my 1,000 trip home that I don't get great gas mileage going 80-85 with a lifted vehicle, oversized tires and a light rack on the roof!

Here's a few more pics from the road trip home in the rain after I bought it.

I don't know how it was in the US, but over here, every colour except red came with a white roof. Occasionally someone would paint the roof to match the body, but it was almost always the black ones that had that done. Also we did not get the Trail Teams edition here.

The only FJ's that came with the body colored roofs were the Trail Teams Editions. Each year, FJ would create this limited production model with upgraded suspension, wheels, badging, etc. All other FJ's had the white roofs.

Here in the states the Trail Teams edition had the matching color roofs, along with some other off road upgrades. All others had the white roofs people associate with the FJ. The all red model over here was the 2012 Trail Teams Edition. Mine is a 2013 and that year they introduced the Cement Gray color exclusive to the Trail Teams model. FJ's were only produced over here from 2007-2014. Over the past few years the prices on these have risen dramatically as there is a big demand for them now.
 
Love the FJs. Should’ve bought a new one the last year they were made.

What's sad is these FJ's were built to be out on the trails and at the same time have very good street manners. Too bad this will probably sit in someone's garage so it never gets dirty or puts miles on it.
 
And the damage, not really that much, one biggish one and a few small ones, all on the roof, none on the hood or sides. I can only think the slight dome shape of the hood protected it. But certainly less than it sounded like I was going to have. I had to take these shots with my big camera as the phone just couldn't focus on them.
