The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Funny. I was thinking the same things about the yellow protectors - complement the calipers!

Thanks! The yellow covers are actually protectors for the front splitter when delivering the vehicle. They are removable but I chose to keep them on because I like how they work well with the yellow brembos I have as well as some yellow on the Scat Pack bee emblem

Protection plus beauty; nice combo!

For me, the best car color is either 2 or 3 color combinations only (plus very few chrome).

Mine is brown with black trims and a few chrome badges. :)

Ohhh the humanity

K24/K20 with Manley turbo tuff rods, upgraded wrist pins, Wiseco 10.2:1 pistons, .0045" PTW clearance, portflow head worked (3 angle valve job), EP3 5 speed transmission, mfactory LSD, stage 5 competition clutch, CC flywheel, RBC intake manifold (port matched), 1300cc FID injectors, walbro 450lph pump, 8an feed, GE fuel rail, aeromotive FPR, A/C deleted, equal length tubular manifold, borg warner S362 turbo, 50mm turbosmart WG, 22x11x3.5" custom intercooler, mishimoto radiator, 100% E85, all piping & exhaust DIY fabricated in my garage. The pic of the wires and total mess was me moving my fuse box to the trunk and doing a semi tuck for the wiring.

To be installed: 95lb valvesprings w/Ti retainers, stage 2 NA cams (overlap on turbo K motors is better than FI cams), Hondata MAP sensor, Acuity TPS. Probably forgetting some stuff, but thats the main points.

Looking to push about 550whp out of it. Had it at 460whp on a smaller turbo @18psi. Gonna crank the boost up and see what happens.

Only got about 4-5" last night but I had fun playing with her in the snow for the first time late yesterday.

What tires are on there stock? How did they do?
Stock the put on Dunflop runflaps. Worst tire since the stone age. Took them off asap and put on Conti. DWS06's. Completely transforms the car. Every single owner needs to ditch the stock tires. I would have gone with AS3's but Conti's do better in rain and snow. being it's a lease im not going to run a winter set just performance all seasons.

Car performed flawlessly in the snow today. I was a bit Leary at first last night but mainly because I had my son with me. Today I played a bit. Zero issues.

Yeah I remember mentioning the DWS06's to you when you first got the car but you said the Michelin AS3's had a stiffer sidewall and were still going to work out for all season duty. I'll tell you what IS working out is what you have NOW! You look at that tread pattern compared to the Mich AS3 and there's NO DOUBT which tire performs better in the wet stuff, whether it's snow or rain! The only reason I have AS3's on my car for 3 season duty is because they don't make the DWS06 in my cars size, not even close.

I put almost 9K on my AS3's this past spring/summer/fall but didn't realize the miles racked up that quickly and when they were taken off for the year I had 2 tires at 6/32nd, 1 tire at 7 and the other at 8/32nds. Yeah I didn't rotate and yeah I did 1995 miles going to and from the Tail of the Dragon (fun inbetween) but that isn't so good for those tires. I was thinking 3 seasons and now it looks like a new pair of shoes before I go down to the Dragon in the fall of 2018 (15th annivesry run!) but I "may" opt for perf rubber, gotta convince Mrs. Klasse about that one though, LOL.

Glad you got those DWS06's and another great thing about them...smooth sidewalls, great for tire coatings

Thx! Yeah, the redesigned sidewall and tread pattern on dws06 from the previous version is what swayed me to go with them. The sidewall is much stiffer now.

In the end I'll reep the benefit that they offer in the wet in the snow more often than I would the minor difference in performance in the dry between the two

The other plus vs stock is the are a lighter tire than the dumbfloops.

If you can swing it next time, I highly recommend the pilot Super Sports. Awesome traction all the way around and you can't beat a summer only Tire for Tripps around Tail of the Dragon
