No...it's about 1/4 the size of that, something not sold here back when it was new

Ah, the Lancer GSR, I missed it because Mitsubishi had them new over here. In fact one of the HR women where I worked back in the 90s had a red one, they were a bit of a sleeper on the road back then. They used to surprise a lot of V8s, especially in the wet.

Myself and 2 others EN owners were meeting at the dealership today and when that thing went by I couldn't believe it because I've never seen an EVO I, II or III inperson, it's so small and sooooo cool

I was going to say it was a Gallant VR4 (or is that just a different name for same car?).

I was gonna say nobody is at the shell gas pumps cause the cost of fuel is way higher than it should be. Oops.

Saw this late, thank you, but I’m not about to attempt to remove the arms. I’ve been lazy lately and haven’t attempted to paint them yet

Saw these two today. Sorry about the quality, but they're captures from my dashcam.

This is the first lowrider I've seen in person, they are not very common over here, I gave him a thumbs up as he went by, so he made it dance for me.

The red one is a special for Deyon, at first I thought it was an ESP Falcon, but then I noticed it wasn't black below the trim line, so I'm not sure, but it was definitely an I6, modded as well. Plates show it to be an '82, it's running on historic registration, which is for vehicles 30 years or older, it only allows you to drive in scheduled car club events, plus 60 other days per year, but it is a lot cheaper, $96 for the first year, then $47 each year after that.

Being an 82' build, it could be either the XD or XE Falcon, but going by the black segmenting lines on the taillights, I'm pretty sure its an XE.

That XD-XE-XF era was the only time Ford had a significant sales lead over GM-Holden. Both the XD Falcon and VB Commodore were cars designed during the oil crises and the need for improved fuel economy. Ford took the gamble of staying with a large cars (sedans/wagons/utes/vans), while Holden downsized to the German designed Commodore in sedan or wagon form only. Ford went with lightweighting so that they could improve fuel economy, while still offering the full range of variants and body styles. Holden decided to downsize their offering by adopting the German Opel Rekord/Senator, but did not improve the powertrains to take advantage of the smaller size. The result was the big Falcon had similar fuel economy the smaller Commodore. That meant the Falcon won favor with fleets and family buyers who needed the space.

Combined with the fact there was no Commodore Ute/van or long-wheel-base Statesman, the smaller size and lackluster economy caught Holden out, to the point where they were basically bankrupt by the mid 80's. They had no money to develop new engines, so they imported inline 6's from Nissan to catch up. All of that is balanced by the fact the Holden Commodore with German parentage was the superior drivers car, especially with the Nissan engine up front. But much like how SUV's and pickups basically killed the large Aussie sedan, Holden in the 80's were not offering the market what they wanted.

This doesn't pertain to me persay as I follow the "Easter thru Thanksgiving" schedule but I'm sure ALOT of people got caught with their pants down today

Yeah, I guess anything they consider custom scares them a little. Orange should stand out as much as the green.
