Here is the REAL story of the Batmobile or Batman car... please note that the Richard Williams Sport Special had absolutely nothing to do with Batman. The one in the 1966 coloring book was based on a Jaguar XKE Roadster and was drawn by Mike Seowsky.

I hear that an owner of a body shop in Ohio now owns and has completely restored (I bettcha it was more than $6K for that resto LOL) one of the three original replicas that George Barris built for the Batman TV series of the 60's.

One of the three original Batmobiles from the series in located in Northern Virginia...I saw it at a car show several years ago...and I didn't have a camera with me! It was gorgeous and I wanted to take it home.
