Overkill? Maybe. Adds more durability? Debatable. Does it look good? Oh yeah! These are photos of my Mazda MX-5 after 4 layers of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal applied 24 hours apart:

I won't say it's overkill but I wonder how much more durability you get by layering it.
WGGPS is so slick, not sure how it would bond because you that reason. Let us know plz.

DP Poli-Coat is self prepping , I could see how it would bond by layering it.
 
Yes my friend--really slick. I notice more people looking at my ride now that I did this. Interesting thing I discovered is that different lighting conditions alter the look. Bright noon sun makes the paint look like a mirror. Overcast skies tend to give it a more glassy look. And sometimes it just looks like my car is covered in chrome paint! Wolfgang, although expensive, makes some awesome stuff.
 
The first time I used the WG Sealant I couldn't beleive the shine and slickness it left.
Your right it isn't cheap but well worth the price.

Hmm...I think the first couple layers would provide the longest lasting durability. Anything after that probably won't bond much to the actual paint and is more of a cosmetic thing. I'll keep an eye on it for sure!

I have been using the WG Deep Gloss Spray Sealant over 2 coats of WGDGPS. :)

Also over WG Fuzion. :)

Well the links that are posted were pictures that were uploaded to that site May 27, 2013 by a gentleman named Gary so I assume no, there are no sun shots to be produced, at least not in the condition that the car was in back when those pictures were taken.
 
I should first point out that I "work" in the movie industry...
and, as such: Have no hidden "detailing adgenda".

Accordingly:

You guys are too funny. :laughing: The pics were taken a while back when I first experimented with multiple Wolfgang applications. It was the only time I did that many layers. I wanted to get the car looking nice before submitting pics to the Miata site for display. Haven't really paid attention to how the protection held up since but I park it outside--so I'd guess it was probably good for a few months. Pretty soon (when the weather here gets better) I plan to do another Wolfgang application with 3 or 4 layers. I promise to take more recent pictures under varying lighting conditions and take note of durability to satisfy your curiousity.
 
Don't forget to mention that info at the beginning of your post and no one would be suspicious of anything later on.

So is there anything protecting the car now? If not you should run outside real quick and throw some water on the car, take some pictures, and see if there is any beading still.

I also have the responsibility of keeping track of the remote.

It never occured to me to layer deep gloss liquid seal. I did top it with a coat of Fuzion though.

The water would just freeze, lol. There's a couple inches of snow on my car right now so it'll be a few days before I can do anything.

I tried it as an experiment and was glad I did. On a bright, sunny day the paint (especially black) will exhibit an extremely high degree of reflectivity and gloss. You will get noticed. I remember the day after I applied the final coat people--young, old, male, female, black, white, you name it...were all eyeballing my car. I don't think they ever saw paint quite like that before.
