The Slickest Sealant

OOS (Opti OptiSeal) is very easy to use. But I didn't find it to be overly slick. I found durability to be average @ 2-3 months. It did give a decent "wet" look shine for me, but it is really "splitting hairs".

I find that most people, even us OCD people would find it hard to really see a difference between different sealants even on the same paint if you striped off one and applied a new one.

If you want to stick with WOWA sealant try BFCS or WGDGLS. Both are even easier to use than OOS and look slightly better IMO. But once again it is hard to really tell difference. I applied all 3 to the same panel side-by-side to see for myself.

4* UPP may not have the durability of some but it is the most "nuba glow" like sealant i have used. And I have used BFWD, WGDGPS, PowerLock, 4* UPP, Klasse SG, BFCS, WGDGLS, UPGP, plus others....

Thanks for the response; Looks like you've tried quite a bit of product out there.
I've been using OptiSeal + ZCS for a few years now.
And yes, I'll agree that OptiSeal is VERY easy to use.
The shine is pretty good, but you're right, there is little to no slickness (which doesn't really bother me as I don't want anyone touching my ride, including myself)

In your experience, after having applied the 3 side by side, did you really see a difference?
Ease of use isn't really a concern for me. Durability and shine really is where it's at.

What kind of durability are you seeing from each (Wolfgang, Blackfire, and UPP)?

Laying all 3 down side-by-side I could see some difference, but like I said it is really "splitting hairs".
  • OOS had that "wet" look, almost like there was water coating the panel.
  • BFCS has more of a crystal sealant look to it. BFWD toped with BFCS is a great combo.
  • WGDGLS had the most "nuba" look of the 3.

I know OOS is easy to use but BFCS and WGDGLS are even easier if you can belive it. I found the durality the 2 new comers to be 3 months easy. But it ti so easy to apply I founf myself "wasting" product and re-applying once a month just for somthing to do. At the end of the day if you are happy with OOS I say stick with it. It is a good product. But if you want to try somthing new I would highly suggest BFCS and WGDGLS.

Troy what are your thoughts on UPGP? I see you mentioned in a previous post that you have used it before. But you did not mention it in your recommendations. How does it compare to OOS, BFCS, WGDGLS?

I put UPGP equal to OOS as far as use and durability. I found that it gave more of a "candy coating" look when you got 3+ applications on a vehicle. I also found 3 applications to be the sweet spot as far as looks and durability @ 3+ months.

But like above the newcomers BFCS & WGDGLS are even slightly easier to use and claimed to have better durability. If you like UPGP stick with it until you are done. Or if your like me get once of each and play with them all to figure out what you like.

Here is a combo of BFCS & WGDGLS: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/64623-introducing-blackwolf.html

Thank you for your input.

I don't see anything wrong with saying that RejeX and Menzerna Powerlock are pretty slick Sealants...
Especially right after they've totally cured.

But, IMO, that's just about the same blanket-statement that could be said about most Sealants,
including my current favorite slick-Sealants listed below:

-Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant (WDGPS)
-Meguiar's M21 Synthetic Paint Sealant 2.0 (M135 for "in-between care")
-Meguiars Ultimate Wax (Ultimate Quik Wax for in-between care)
-Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze (KHGSG)
-Menzerna Powerlock
-Rejex

Bob

I have used M21, UW and KSG and agree that they are very slick. I would give a slight edge to KSG but not by much.
