The techniques and products I learned about during the free live training worked absolutely wonderful even on a neglected Chevrolet SSR

Recently I watched one of the free live training videos that Mike and Yancy do. This one was about cosmetic engine compartment detailing.

I did a cosmetic engine compartment detail on this neglected Chevrolet SSR, however it likely needed a wet wash. Since I wasn't washing the car my only option was a cosmetic engine compartment detailing.

I used the techniques and the products Mike shows in the training along with a couple of other products and let me just say that this thing actually turned out pretty good Not perfect but I'm still impressed by how it turned out.

Bottom line the techniques that Mike teaches in these live classes works amazing and the products work awesome too I'm incredibly impressed by the black fire one step I mean look how nice it made the paint under the hood look!

Thank you very much Mike and Yancy!

I used sonax glass cleaner in Kwazar Mercury Pro sprayer to de - grease, and then I used a waterless wash product. After that I dressed up the engine compartment with 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I cleaned up the hood insulation with Sonax Glass Cleaner at first and then hit it with a fabric cleaner and a wet microfiber towel wrapped around my designated interior tire brush.

No check engine light came on and there's even a pic of me using Mike's "Cross your fingers" technique.

Here's a link to Mike and Yancy's video:

Good stuff Jacob! Huge improvement, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, Mike kind of knows what he's talking about...... Lol

If Mike Phillips makes a video, you can take that info straight to the bank.

Mike is the only guy I follow, as I first learned from him. I am only a hobbyist, and I have grown in products/opinions of products.

But, if want the absolute truth about a product or the best way to use it, Mike is the only guy I trust.

Verrryyy nice work sir!

I wholeheartedly agree with that!
I have learned more about detailing from Mike than anyone else as well!
One of these days I hope to make it to one of Mike's 3 Day Detailing Boot Camps as I believe they are called. That would be a great vacation!

Wow!!! Talk about amazing results! Good job! Glad to see that the knowledge that I have instilled in Mike over the years is finally paying off lol, just joking! Thanks for tuning it to the LIVE Detailing Classes, nice to see people putting the methods that Mike and I film to work, then documenting them as well as you did. Hats off to you sir!

Wow!

Nice work Jacob and GREAT photography!

And as corny as it may be, I've NEVER had a "Check Engine" light come on when I've crossed my fingers before starting the engine. :K

Thank you so much Mike! Also thank you for squaring my paragraphs away, and double spacing my photos. Your compliments truly mean a lot to me! I will wear them as a silent badge of honor.

I find the pictures to be a fun part of the process, and if I find myself getting discouraged during a detail I just think about the awesome pictures I get to take when I'm done. :dblthumb2:

I'd say it's not corny at all! More like a proven and time tested technique! It worked great for me!

Yancy, for you take the time to check out my post, and compliment my work truly means more than you could know. You have given me my second silent badge of honor today. I'll wear it with pride!

I try to watch all of the live detailing classes. I consider it part of my weekly mandatory training, and it's fun! You guys do an amazing job filming and teaching / demonstrating.

I'm glad I could show yourself, Mike, and other forum members how well this stuff works down here in the trenches of Oklahoma. My detailing has gone to a whole other level thanks to you guys!
