My friend thought it would be a good idea to hold my pc to his car to remove ALL SWIRLS AND SCRATCHES for 20min straight. He moved back and forth but didn't turn it off at all and kept lots of pressure on the pc at all times. He also did this while I wasn't around do I had no way of stopping him. He burnt a whole through the pad and it was smoking....... Note to anyone out there reading this...

NEVER LEAVE YOUR BUFFER UNATTENDED

I mean at least it was his car...

But in all seriousness sorry to hear the bad news.

That doesnt even make sense.

Sorry you lost a pad from it but hopefully your friend will respect your stuff a little more next time.

His car is fine. He just thought he could detail, he did an alright job but didn't think that friction could cause damage to the pad also.... He owes me $$$ for a new pad, and a new Velcro backing plate. That melted also.

Just because the car looks OK doesn't mean he didn't cut most of the clear off of it. Let's hope not. So many people think this stuff is so simple, "Wax on Wax off" Guess he learned different huh?..

Replacing supplies isn't fun, make him buy you some beer and order pizza in place of a new pad/BP :)

Who cares about a pad! What about your PC and what kinda damage could of been done to it. All the pressure and what not, who knows what else he did lol

I've seen a smoking pad from my buffer too whilst the buffer was in the hands of a friend of mine.
