First off not even sure if this is the right kind of forum for this question so I apologize in advance. Got a great deal (~50% off) on a salvage car. Few months later, a dime size piece of bondo fell off the door, totally sucks but luckily its just a door (easy to replace down the road, doors are like $60 at junkyard).

Given that experience I wanted to know more about the damage so I ran an epicvin (has salvage auction pictures) and found that I did luck out. Light damage to both fenders, bumper, and driver door. All of this damage I knew about, all of it was replaced except for the driver door which had some shoddy bodywork (I noticed while buying).

One section that does worry me is the area around the rear quarter panel. Seeing the job they did on the door, I can only assume that they simply filled it with bondo and resprayed over. I was wondering if there is anything I can do in this region to minimize any damage from occuring? A good product out there that might help? Seems when it comes to detailing its probably best to just lightly clean this region and maybe some wax but nothing else.

See attached pictures for more details

I have a bondo filler thickness detector purchased from summit
Love it for when I'm looking at purchasing 70s and older vintage rides
If bondo is thick..it'll eventualy fail and pull
away..
