I took some pictures at the car show. I didn't take many pictures. Why? Because it was sunny and 90° out, and, when I arrived I was already thirsty. No biggie, I thought I'll just buy some water there. So I started walking.

I thought "somebody must be selling water soon". To I kept walking. I started to get real thirsty. "Water must be for sale soon" I thought kept walking. Now I started to get dizzy. Everyone had water but me. I saw someone's dog drinking water out of a bowl. I thought "that lucky #####".

To walk through this show and see all the cars, it must have been two or three miles (felt like a million). But someone had the brilliant idea not to sell any water until the end. By the time I found the water I wasn't interested in cars or pictures. I was half dead.

Someone was wiping down their car with these:

Some cars were pretty nice:

This green color is the best I've seen at hiding defects. This car was actually very nice:

What a shame, but most people are unaware of the damage they (or the person who 'details' their cars) are doing.

Been nice to have found SON1C before you had to trod all those miles while you were a-thirst...
Surely he would have had a spare bottle of sparkly he would have given to the cause.

:)

There were drinks/food sold at like 15 different vendors. Must not have been thirsty enough.

I couldn't find them until all the way at the end of the place (after you walked through all the cars in a snake pattern). Maybe they were there and I just didn't see them...

Then like a dummy I walked all the way to the Monster drinks truck at the other end thinking "they are probably selling drinks there"... No drinks, but a lot of girls walking around with their butt cheeks hanging out in high heels promoting something. The one girl looked like her shorts were stolen from a toddler. I'm not complaining though :0 !!!

I was at a cruise a few weeks ago when someone pulled out a beach towel and some aresol detailer and wiped down their newer Vette.

Other attendees borrowed his stuff and wiped down there's as well.

Saw tons of swirls on some expensive cars.

Where are the pics of the Monster girls with their trunks hanging out? :awman:

I rarely, if ever, see proper car-care techniques at shows. Whenever I use AG/proper methods I get looks from people wiping their garage queen down with a dirty rag.

I was actually going to take a picture of one. But, there was a bunch of guys following their every move.

Didn't want to get my ass kicked.

You should be at a car show when it is raining. The bath towels and dish rags always make an appearance. It's quite shocking but frankly a lot of judges rank the flaws in the paint low on the priority list.

Haha thanks swan! Would've been cool to meet you, if I don't have the opportunity to at one of the upcoming detailing events I expect to at the latest next summer at the 6th annual!

I am constantly blown away at the LACK of concern for the cosmetic condition of vehicles at EVERY single car show I've EVER been to!!! :)

I couldn't agree with you more, especially with the hoods up, my God are they horrific! These cars sit in the garage for an entire week, if not longer, and they come out to shows looking that way. A lot of these "old schoolers" think a machine will burn the paint, sans the guys here ofcoarse and that's the real problem with these cars and how they look. All this money under the hood and elsewhere and then the paint looks like hell, what's the point?

Its mostly ignorance. The old car scene is much more concerned about maintaining mechanical stuff, and making power. No one talks about cleaning or polishing. Thats more of a new car scene. The most my father and I ever did building old chevys was a cut and buff, and maybe megiurs 3 step every couple of years. And it showed.
