Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

The Katzkin interiors are nice for sure, seen one in a breast cancer awareness 500 a dealership had for sale and it was $1500 and I believe covered the door panels too but that probably wasn't leather if I had o guess.

Maybe I'll be able to trade with someone selling their car that has the red leather seats, although I'd have to swap out my rear seats with them too as they match the fronts whereas the leather ones don't match the fronts, weird.

I found red front seatbelts for the car too, very cool!

30.4 mpg going to the D using NO sport mode and doing 60 in a 55 and 75 in a 70, going back home USING sport mode and doing 70 in a 70 and 60 in a 55 and got 36.4 mpg!

Have a little over 5500 miles and when the weather is "normal" spring temps my mileage is over 36 mpg, actually 2 tanks ago I managed 36.8 mpg. As predicted I look forward each and everyday to getting into the Abarth!

So today I asked my buddy to install my leather shiftboot w/ red stitching as well as the cueball colored shiftknob, came out great, especially since he added the washer to bring it all together! The color is called ivory and although the pics might not show it, it is exactly the same color as old cueball.

The last picture is yellow and red inserts for the engraved 500 logo on the boot piece, ties into the Abarth logo above it, ties in nicely. This mod was a whole $6.00. The leather shiftboot w/ red stitching was $80.00 and the shiftknob was about $60.00, so sometimes you can spend very little to get a result or a bit more to really change the look, couldn't be happier!

I absolutely LOVE the inserts! They are a great accent :dblthumb2:

Thanks Monica and looking at the shiftknob pic it does look like a light bulb turned on, that was per Derek0609, LOL. Inperson its that true ivory color of a cueball, love it!

To tie into that mod will be a trans insert tomorrow, a more positive shift and probably (and hopefully) more feel aka vibration!

The plate is fantastic! How many people do you know who actually get it?

My daughter gave me a Stig T-shirt for Christmas and I get a lot of weird looks around here.

I've had 1 guy in an Acura compliment me but I see people pointing and smiling all the time at it.

I will look up the Ebay users name and report back!

The trans insert from NUE-F went in today, noticeable difference in feel! A bit more vibration but nothing annoying, that's for sure! 1st and 2nd are much better, I suggest this mod for sure!! Also had amber parking lights installed, no more "peach colored" lights. The bulbs are from Nokya and are called hyper amber #7443 IIRC...MUST HAVE!

Luigia's Lashes hatch insert for Fiat 500 Abarth, this is what comes up in the heading, let me know if this helps. I'm on my phone so I can't copy and paste the addy for you.

Anything done to your car? Btw, you can have the inserts done in any color combo too, along with other items they make.

Many thanks! Luigia's Lashes came right up in Google. She has some interesting stuff.

My car is pretty stock. I do have the Neuspeed short shifter which I think you have too. The car is an emotional sort of thing for me. I owned an original 500 before you were born, I have owned several other Fiats over the years (bought my son an 850 Spider which was a basket case for his 16th birthday and "restored" it with him). I used to work in a Fiat/Lancia dealership and I have always enjoyed Italian cars (and other things - I raced a Ducati for awhile too).

Did you do the Fiat driving experience? If not, I recommend it. It was fun and much better than I expected.

Thanks,
<TED>

I haven't done the Abarth experience but after reading about it it doesn't sound all that much fun as it sounds like the rules are strict! IIRC its here sometime in August and if its the 1st weekend in August I'll be back home in Detroit taking in the events that preceed the Woodward Dream Cruize!

I don't have the NUE-F short shifter but I do have their rear motor mount insert and I would HIGHLY suggest that, firms things up and gives more feel to the shifting!

This is my 1st Italian car and I love the attitude it has, I look forward to getting into the car everyday, can't get enough of it! The mileage has been consistent too, last 2 tankes were 33.6 and 33.4 mpg, have gotten a high of 36.8 mpg on the way back from Detroit to Chicago...using sport mode too!

I have lots of mods planned for the car and they'll happen in time, i.e. lightened crank pulley, FMIC, offset racing stripe, 500T head/parking lights (maybe the tails too), maybe a Modern Enginweerng TB and Forge BOV too. When it comes time for tires I will up the size a tad too, up from 205/40 to a 215/40. I also plan on the "big red" rear sway bar from RRM for sure, probably before I go down to the Dragon this year. Oh yeah, the NUE-F race axle-back FOR SURE, take that awesome sound up to 11...!

Nice! Who did the boot for you?

I bought it from 500Madness, its from a company called BLACK, made in Italy. I need to treat it with some Griot's leather conditioner, love the smell of leather!

New leather shiftboot is now conditioned w/ Griot's leather conditioner, did the steering wheel too and the e-brake handle, although its not real leather, LOL!
