Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Glad to see you like your ABARTH

Thanks Banzaitoyota, appreciate it!

Its 10:19 a.m. CST and the side stripes are off of the car (looks naked!) Just went over the location with the installers. Can't really say right now if its going to be done in the next 1 hr and 10 minutes or not, so I'm not sure when the pics will be up but the process is underway!

woohoo! Exciting!

I ran out time and had to leave @11:30 a.m. and have buddy take me to work, last thing I wanted them to do was rush the job. I did see the side stripes and they look awesome!

We'll be picking the car up this evening and it probably going to be dark when I get there so picks will have to wait till tomorow, oh well. I didn't even sneak a peek at how it looked on the front, I wanna be completely surprised with that look as a complete job.

So pics tomorrow!

For some reason I can only do one at a time right now, go figure!

Its amazing what happens when you turn your phone off and back on, WOW!, I can post more than 1 pic!

Not sure if you can tell in the pics but the mirrors caps aren't wrapped and because of this the color doesn't match but it will as I'm having them done to perfectly match the stripes. We thought it would but out in the sun you can see it, so its almost finished.

As far as the new look goes, I LOVE IT! The tails will be turned back to stock as soon as I'm done here. Once the mirror caps are done I'll post a pic the tails back to stock too. Gotta add the chrome back in there with the additional red, addition but subtraction!

Addition by subtraction:

Btw thanks Merc! How's the DGNCC working for you?

Hopefully I'll be able to apply it this weekend. My work schedule has been crazy the past month.

Spewing gibberish to confuse the NSA.

The weather looks great, so no issue with smearing for sure. The Squeaky Clean is soooo easy to work with too, easy on and easy off! The applicators they come with work well enough but I prefer my square mf or terry cloth applicators and that mf towel you get with it, I prefer to use other mf towels for removal.

Hope I see pics of it in your review for it, its a great product!!

Btw mirror caps are being wrapped as I post this!

The Abarth has been netting upper 33 mpg's the last 3 tanks, couldn't be happier with that. The CR-Z would get almost 40 mpg, sometimes a little more and usually no less than 38 mpg this time of the year when its hot and humid, a good trade off for the added fun aka hp and torque!

The SC'd red Corvette gets between 32-34 mpg over the road.

And:...:iagree:...
That it's great to have the added FUN (aka: hp and torque)!!

I think around town the MINI gets like, 24? LOL IDK... never really paid attention. I'm sure revving to 7K doesn't help :D

Yeah the R53 isn't as good on gas as the R56, but then again the R56 isn't as reliable either! To be fair my car spends a good portion of its time on the highway doing 60 mph too, little light to light. My best to date was going back home to the D where I got 36.8 mpg, very close to matching my old R56.

Really can't wait to get the black turbo tails, those will happen before the front conversion but at some point the car WILL have them, trust me! I would love to do the "blackout" turbo model head/parking lights when I do the FMIC. My buddy has an ATM FMIC and said it made a HUGE difference, so some "show" and "go" together would be nice but I would like to get the FMIC used to save me some money though, $900 brand new isn't anything to sneeze at! My buddy back home has a red Abarth and goes through cars like we go through rinseless wash, so if this holds up I'll be getting one for a good deal, this is the plan right now. The FMIC is sooooo much more efficient than the pair of side mounted IC's that come on the car from the factory, can't wait! More power is out there and I will have it, trust me!!!

Yeah, you're right... The R56 does get better gas mileage.
That's all I have nice to say about it

IMO the FMIC is the best mod you can do to a turbo car.
I have the GP intercooler for my car on my "wish list"... But like yours, they are pricey. One of these days....

The problem with my IC's are efficiency, the air has a long route to travel AND isn't gettinng the air first and foremost like it does when its up front and square in the middle.

GP IC must be UBER expensive since they only made 2150 of those, do you need a VIN # to get one?

So would the new one move to the front then?

The GP one is expensive, tho there are aftermarket ones coming out that are as good or better I may look into instead.
I don't know if I'd need a VIN, but I know my shop wouldn't have an issue getting me one :xyxthumbs:
