Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

How are you not getting run over doing 60 on 90/94 or the Tri-State?

Unless things have changed in the last couple years, when I lived in the area 70-80 was the flow of traffic.

That's funny as $&@€ man

There are a lot of damn Prius drivers doing that or less out there.... And in the left lane!!! :bash:

I run 53 going to and from work and people here never do the speed limit! Even 355 between I-80 and I-55 has a 65 mph speed limit but I do 70 mph there because its sooooo wide open and again, NOONE does the speed limit.

I drive a delivery van all day at work and know where the cops are, usually, and just will not speed one bit, its just the way I am. As far as Prius' go, well, the majority of them are NOT going the speed limit, they are exceeding it, LOL. Not only are they NOT hypermiling but they're speeding on LRR tires, yeah, real smart there "greenie".

That said, when I'm on my way to and from work and I see a car "I'd like to play with", I do "throw the line out there" to see if he'll bite, like last night for instance, new white GTI, dropped w/ black wheels. Got next to him goosed it and made the BOV sound off and my car backfired loud too, it was VERY cool, did this twice but just a bit too much traffic. I like doing this just to let them know I'm there!!

You're lucky... the Prius community around me seems to only go 55 no matter what. And for some reason they like to do it in the left lane.
I don't care how fast you are driving, but PLEASE, MOVE OVER if someone is behind you trying to pass and wants to actually utilize the left lane :bash:

LOL- since the header went on my car it "pops and burbles" all over the place. Gotta love that :dblthumb2:

Hey Kitty, have you called Detroit Tuned about your MINI needs?

I know what you mean. About 5 years ago while on 294 a moron in a Prius was driving like an idiot and took out an older gentleman enjoying a nice ride on his Goldwing.

LOL no- they are 584 miles away!

My shop is Helix :dblthumb2:

OMG I bought one of your stubby antennas for my R56, small world! Well I'm sure Chad could ship your item if need be, he eats, sleeps and drinks MINI's!

A Helix one? I didn't even know they sold them!

Yeah, I know Chad. He's a good guy.

But I am a very loyal Helix customer.

I swear it was a Helix brand, funny how MINI's come up in an Abarth thread, LOL! I hope you have all you want done to your car for our 2015 Dragon run since you and your husband can't make it out with us this year. I will a couple things done by then for sure, the light weight crank pulley and new tires FOR SURE!

Speaking of the Dragon, 93 more days!

It could very well be... just never noticed if they sold them or not.
I know- they kinda go together (I'm sure I'd get a lot of crap from my MINI community for saying that).

Woohoo! Go Dragon!

Sorry for the whoring but I just like this pic from today! The combo of DGNCC, maintained using DG rinseless and DG rinseless made as a QD and the occasional application of AW is an unbeatable team! I couldn't have achieved this without Duragloss and their quality products!

Not concerning numbers or costs, i've had nothing but great luck with Hondas and Acuras. My 06 RSX type S had 170K before I sold it and it also had zero issues.

I am not sure how reliable Fiats are but since I only have one car, my daily driver, I want something I know will last.

Both are great cars though.

I had the CR-Z and put 43K on it, no problems and before that a 2010 Honda Fit sport and put 33K on that, once again, NO issues. I would've stayed with Honda but I gave into POWAH! Its too bad Honda didn't put the supercharger on the CR-Z from the start, its offered now but as an aftermarket option. Honda has great engines and a great history in performance cars, so not sure why they shy away from perf sans the Si, there's so much potential for the CR-Z and Fit for mods, oh well.

It appears I spoke too soon! My buddy who plans on trading his 12' Abarth because of the issues with side skirt seperation and window noise isn't looking to decontent his car quite yet. I didn't think he'd mind selling off the tails since he's so unhappy (not "Happy") with his car. I'm sure I'll get them when he's ready, he did offer me the spare wheels he bought for winter duty, so I know I'll be getting those, hopefully doing a detail on one of his cars for those, this way no out of pocket expense, more money to buy better snow tires like Nokian or Conti's.

I forgot to add the pic of my dashboard, LOL! I had this done when I had the stripes done. The badge under the 500 logo says "Powered by" with a red scorpian after it. These were put on a limited run of the first 500 Abarths, thought it looked cool so I added one too!

Well I've found an axle-back for the Abarth, its made by Modern Performance. It eliminates the horrible bends the factory made, is made of T304, makes an actual 5 hp on the dyno, takes the sound to 11 and has nice, double walled SS tips. Not sure exactly when its going to happen but its going to happen!

I've cooled a bit on the blackout lights because I was on the 500 Madness site and watched a video on their main page of a show and a guy, with stripes like mine, had the blackout conversion done, uhhh, not exactly feeling it but I am feeling that exhaust though!

Between the exhaust, the lightened pulley and correct FMIC its going to cost me $1500 and with the Dragon trip coming up none of that's happening before hand, I guess that's what winter is for, save for the spring! I see the exhaust happening first, then the pulley and finally the FMIC. Sure the FMIC is the most expensive @ $8-900.00, but I have a plan for that and that plan is for my buddy back home to get bored with Abarth, even though he says that's not going to happen, and I buy his used ATM FMIC for much cheaper than the $900 MSRP. I've waited this long, so I can do the little things that add up inbetween and besides,I've already got the tune and SRI on it now, its not like the car is lacking in the power department, I just want more POWAAAHHH!
