Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Roger: no mods except debadging. I don't do winter tires so it'll be the Michelins.

I like them too Circa but the need for "wabble bolts" has turned me off to using them, although others have used them w/o an issue, so I may or may not just keep the stock wheels and break them down every season between snows and 3 seasons.

Mr. Paul, hope those Michelins do the job, guess some rock salt in the trunk doesn't hurt either, right?!

The new snows have 1 coat of TW tire coating on them and tomorrow will have me applying 2 more coats, one in the morning and another right before I go to work. Its going to be very interesting to see how the TW tire coating holds up to the cold, salt, snow and slush...stay tuned!

Well done Roger.... I am preparing for winter here as well.

The Coupe will be retired to the garage this coming weekend. Probably until spring and the last bit of salt is off the roads :xyxthumbs:

Nice Roger!
LOL- I have Bridgestones on the Coupe right now and was thinking I can't wait to get rid of them
But mine are summer tires... not the snow ones you just bought... those look mean

Monica, what don't you like about your OEM tires, just curious?

Yeah these tires are mean, gotta snap a shot of the tread, looks awesome!

Well, I really need to test them out next spring and see how they perform. But right now I know of really good performing tires that are WAY less money.
I don't know if they will be worth the money or not and I don't know who else is running them.

Well ofcoarse rock them while they're on there I guess, its what I did with the Pirelli's on my ride. The OEM performance tires are always expensive and the replacements are out there, I'm sure you'll do your research when it comes time to replace them Monica. Its alot more fun when you go shopping for tires and all-season isn't the top priority:xyxthumbs:

The Continental DW is an awesome tire, just saying. I'm pretty sure they're still making the DW, just not the DWS. Check em' out Monica and tell me what you think.

Exactly- Im not wasting money on tires until I need to... there are other items on my ever-growing list of things for the Coupe (shakes head).
But yeah, I'm a big fan of the Contis. The DWS comes up on TireRack as an option (if I was interested).

Of course, I want to bump up to 245/275s Im the MAN

Surprised the DWS even comes up as they're being phased out. The DW on the other hand, not sure if they are too.

The 245/275 should look awesome on your car and I'm sure there's many quality choices out there. When I chose a tire I factor a couple things in but one thing is the sidewall and how smooth it is. A lot of these new tires have ribs that go all the way around, harder to apply tire dressing and just doesn't look so good IMO. This is where the Conti DWS/DW comes into play, BFG has their KWD2's but their quality has gone down IMO but they have a smooth sidewall and cool tread pattern. I had em' on my R56 and @10K they were loud, so loud infact that my non knowing about cars then g/f now wife thought something was wrong with the car:rolleyes:

That stinks! The DWS are great tires!!!!???

Oooooh yeah, they will look great :dblthumb2:

Well, if the DW goes away, I'll have to look around. I did like the Dunlap Star-Specs... ran them on my MINIs. Seriously sticky in the dry, but noisy as hell!!!!!! I'm not sure they even come in the size I need... I'll have to see what's available.

A sign?

I've done all the performance mods this year, "ICE" if you will, Intake, Computer and Exhaust. I added the custom rocker panel stripes and offset body stripe to give it a distinct look, now I'm thinking about wheels. I have my stockers wrapped in snow tires and will need 3 seasons come spring anyways, so I've been thinking about taking the car to the next level.

The red wheels really stand out but tie into the red accented theme of the car, so IMO it doesn't look like a "clown car" if you really look at it and besides, I really like it. I'd like to hear what you guys think about it, good or bad.

From a cleaning standpoint these would be much, much easier to clean too. That said, they do have gloss black ones but I really can't stand gloss black wheels, they'd show everything but I could take care of them and it would make the red accents "pop" even more but looking at the pics, I really like the red :props:

The wheels are 17 x 7.5"wide, a half an inch wider, so running the next size up, the 215/40 would be a logical upgrade and needed actually as the car makes more power than stock now.

I like the red wheels, the only thing I would personally add would be to tint the windows. The car looks good

Yeah I agree, it needs tints but that's ok, mine has 35% metallic tint, so I'm good to go there, plus I've got the Abarth chrome fuel door too.

These wheels are a true 4 x 98 too, no "wooble" bolts for me with these :props:

I'm usually not a fan of colored wheels Roger, but I think the red stripe ties them together with the car nicely.
You have good taste... I trust your judgement :dblthumb2:
