Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

The new commercial with the Imperial March being played while the black Viper leads all of the white Challengers and Chargers is cool but maybe replace the Viper with an all black version of my car :righton:

I hope FCA doesn't get into any trouble because the black Abarth kicked rocks and dust into the face of the white Abarth I say this tongue in cheek but then again Star Wars has been accused of being racists this past week by some college professor IIRC, probably Cal Berkely, LOL

How do you like the abarth? I drove one just to see the other evening. I'm thinking of trading my car in, I'm all over the board of what i want though lol. It was kinda fun, but did feel a bit doggy, more than I expected, but that's getting tight out of my car too so might not have helped. I don't think I could deal with the abarths clutch. Way too soft and the travel for engagement would drive me crazy.

Regardless, great looking car!

I've owned the car for almost 2 years and I can honestly say that I look forward to getting into my car each and every day! Now I've done many mods to the car but with each mod I fall in love with the car even more, for me this is key. I added some new wheels this year and it changed the look of the car, so that really went a long way.

As far as the clutch, I agree, its soft but I've gotten used to it. I'm glad your looking at the manual too, thank you for that!

the abarths are an absolute blast to drive, I had one for a year or so.

I won't be getting one, I've liked the way they sound(aftermarket exhaust), and look but it's way too small for me.
Just had to drive one! Really want to drive a fiesta St also.
Just got done driving a audi b7 s4, automatic though, once I find a manual with the right miles and color I think that's what direction I'll be heading, even though my current car is quicker and more fast mod friendly it's time for something different.... Only issue is I still love my car and after each test drive of something else, I love it more. 320whp and even more tq is a blast. It's a killer nobody expects!
 
Two of my best friends had MS3's, 1st and 2nd gen and they both modded and them and had NO issues with em either. Your choice of the b7 S4 is the early 2000's version with the twin turbo V6, right? I really like the early 2000's S4 Avant in Nagaro blue, LOVE THAT COLOR!

I understand you not being able to go to an Abarth for sure but those Audi's would be a logical next step up from the MS3 but as I'm sure you know the maintenance and parts can get $$$$$. The LCD displays for the radio and HVAC always seem to go bad over time and are unreadable 😖

Little story I'm sure you'll like. I worked at a Lotus dealership in the metro Detroit area and we also sold and serviced Euro cars and I got to drive a 1995.5 S6 with S2 exhaust manifold, Porsche front brakes and 18" S8 wheels all the way out to Road America to take a customer an axle for his Lotus. I really enjoyed the drive and that straight 5 was butter smooth and fast for what it was! The car was pearl white with bone interior and real CF trim inside, very unique ride🇩🇪

So, a few months ago I drove an Abarth. I loved it, then I checked out resale value.... Ouch! I then drove a FiST. Loved it more than the Abarth, hopefully getting one soon. Short and sweet. Like Hayden Pannitier.
 
I'm looking at a 2008 they have the v8. Reliability issues don't bother me much, as an ex tech, I don't pay others to wrench for me so parts can be more and I still come out ahead saving on labor.

And I'm a Saab guy, but it's been trying to move on from them so I get the quirky cars lol.

I like the FiST but maybe you should wait for the recently announced RS version with TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY HORSEPOWERS🇺🇸🇬🇧

There are things better about the FiST like seats and power levels stock but the Abarth is more raw and I for one like that better. If it were possible to have non power windows and door locks I would have it, non electric and non power steering....YES PLEASE!

Why not a Turbo X wagon with 6 speed Btw my one best friend with the MS3, a 2nd gen, was also a Saab guy before he got the MS3. It was an 05 with full BSR parts!
