Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Hey Roger, saw you and your Abarth at Supercar Saturday in South Barrington. The Abarth was looking good! I've missed out on some of this thread and it looks like you made a few changes from last year.

Are you heading to Bolingbrook tomorrow?

Yes I am...weather permitting😋...not because my car is special because it's a DD but it's going to get cleaned tonight and if it doesn't have to go it's not😎

Hey now, your sweeping your own leg. Your car IS special and just with everyone on this forum, each car is special.

I normally don't pay attention to a lot of cars on the road but I drove past a bright red Abarth the other day and thought of you. Wasn't the factory red but a wrapped red, and even the wrap was swirled out. I just thought what would Roger think.

Yeah that's the problem with non-matte wrapped vehicles, it swirls. I'm surprised mfg's even offer it.

I don't think it was factory, I think it was after market done. Here in Toronto it's pretty common. People don't want to wait for the exact colour of their car so they buy a whatever colour and just wrap it.

Great move!

I love the pearl yellow and 57 edition blue!

I considered wrapping my roof actually with black carbon fibre on the mazda but I'm gonna wait and see how well the super abused cquartz UK on it is holding out.

From the Derek0609 driveway, right when I got to the D and later on Woodward with my fellow Dragon Slayer and trackday guy Josh from Tennessee

I don't normally enter popularity contests on forums but I did on the Fiat site I'm a member of. There was only 2 cars this month, mine and a stock turbo with slammed coilovers. As of yesterday I'm 4 votes behind.

I don't let these things bother me too much but I thought I'd fare better against a stock car basically but I guess "more lowr" guys win out again. Once of his pics shows dirt all up the rocker panel too, just can't seem to win ever and its been like this 17 years in. Back in my Contour SVT days my car did have the best of everything and clean but never got the respect it deserves. Even when I "lowered" it it didn't really lower, LOL, long story.

I feel it's a sign to do brakes over the suspension, especially since it will probably need some brake work by this time next year.

Roger I wouldn't worry about it... these online contests are just what you said... popularity contests.
Most of the time it's whomever has the most friends on the site/forum that win, not who SHOULD win.
But I like the idea of brakes vs suspension... don't give in to the dark side ;)

Save the lotto money for the car, Roger.

You'd have a better chance of getting attacked by Bigfoot, while simultaneously being struck by lightening from two sides on February 30th. ;)

So I lost out on my bid for "Ride of the Month"

The mods:

Fiat 500 Sport Mods
•MADNESS - Go Pedal, Short Shift Adapter, 16mm Spacers (all around), Carbon Fiber Front Brace, V-Maxx Coilovers
•CORZA FORZA - Lower Cross Brace, Vertical Chassis Braces
•OTHER - Draw-Tite Bike Rack Hitch, Window Tinting, Racing Stripes, LED Lights, WeatherTech Floor Mats, Carbon Fiber Shift knob, Fumoto Oil Drain Plug

There was a total of 20 votes, I got 8 and he got 12. Something about a lowered car I guess, screw being clean and having performance mods I guess, just slam it and that's it, LOL! Yeah, I'm pretty miffed about this one....

Shake it off Roger. Some people just don't have any taste. I completely understand... this is why I don't enter the popularity competitions.

To us you were the winner... no contest.
