This Getting Old Crap...

Well done Alex, I bet she was impressed with the results. What solution did you use on the carpet and upholstery?

Nicely done Alex!!! I think your after shots can rival guys using extractors. What did she say about how it turned out? Looks like the Bissell LGM is worth the price huh?

Hey Art! Thanks for the compliments...she was very happy. I think she had a "OMG my car is disgusting" moment cause when I went over to look at it, she was almost cringing at the site of her car. She had a big smile on her face when she came to pick it up, and was very pleased with the job.

I pre-treated the carpet with Folex and agitated with an upholstry brush. I then used the ultra concentrated Bissell solution that came with the LGM. I bought an additional bottle, just in case, and I'm glad I did. I want to find something else that works better though.

Hey Marc! Thank you for your kinds words sir! I greatly appreciate them. I don't know if it could rival, but I do like how professional it looked. It definitely gives that extra attention to detail feel about it. Yes I would definitely say the LGM is worth the investment, especially if one (like myself) can't afford the bigger industrial sized machines. I'm very happy with that purchase.

Getting old certainly beats the alternative

OH YEA!!! :props:

Just remember, no one gets off the planet alive!!

Stay vertical my friend.....

Yes, gentlemen, you are correct LOL!!!! Bobby thats why I need to hit the gym...so I can stay vertical.

alko, when a hobbiest performs this kind of service, it gives others an extra push to strive to do better. Way to go. Betcha had fur and dander in your eyes, nose, and mouth. Not to mention your clothes. Here's a link for a rotating brush attachment that you can hook up to your wet vac. Will definitely save much time in the process. It walks the dog on pet hair. Also aids in dry time after the LGM.

You can find these and other models at most vac sites and repair shops. I've seen them as low as $9 on ebay.
The female end will not fit most wet vac hoses but a round or two of duct tape solves that problem. Not home now so can't show you a pic of how I did it, but it is simple.

You know...I never thought of it that way. I'd be real humbled if what I did inspired others. Thanks for putting it that way and thanks for the compliment. I sure did have all that stuff in my clothes and I'm sure my hair. The mask held up fairly well, considering it's on of those 3M particle masks. I need to invest in a nice filter mask.

Thanks for the link. The metro vac came with a similar turbo brush, but it just stops spinning when the bristles make contact with the carpet. I'll check out the link you posted.

Turbobrushes power through on the wet vac...great for aggitating pre -soak or scrub on uphostered seats and carpets too.

ok cool..gotcha. I'll definitely check it out then. I appreciate it!

Excellent write up and pictures Alex. I got a female college friend who wants me to clean her car when the semester is over. I can say with 99% certainty it has never been cleaned before. I debate over buying a LGM from time to time, but after seeing this, I think I'll have to before I get to her car!

Thanks Kyle!! I appreciate it! I definitely suggest, if you're a weekend detailer, to get one. I would LOVE to be able to purchase one of them big time hot water extractors, but for $89.99 BB&B...you really can't beat it.

On another note...I sent you a PM asking about Teresa...can you let me know how she's doing?

Aye....thanks Dave! I appreciate! Thank you very much!

Very very nice Alex. I love a well done interior detail especially with really good before and after pictures!

And then there's my quote...

I feel your paint...

The Baggie Test

I did that on my whole hood, the baggy test, then I turned on my garage lights and the whole hood was marred, then I took out the D/A and PO85Rd and all was well again

By the way, great job on the interior Alko, how much did you pay for the LGM? Looks like it works well and you are happy with it

Thanks Rock!! I appreciate it. I have a 205 off coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond so the LGM was $89.99 + tax. You really can't beat that at all. I'm getting ready to do the steps in my house.
