I know the inventor, his name is Tom Greer....

Here's a post from 2009....

At SEMA I met Bob Greer, a custom car painter and detailer for over 25 years and also the inventor of the Thumbgun! Here you can see a variety of polishers with Thumbguns mounted on them and ready to get to work.

Bob's going to set us up with one of these new tools for the Dallas Roadshow Class so everyone can have a chance to try it out.

I had a couple of these things and did test them out. My take on them was they would probably work for an industry that did a LOT of buffing on large flat surfaces like motorhomes and large boats...

The liquids need to be thin to pump well and feed well through the tubes...

Maybe things have changed but I haven't heard. Don't remember seeing Bob at SEMA this year?

:)

Wow kinda cool I could bring up some old memories for you Mike. Seems they would be in the way a lot though and I can appreciate the idea but the practicality of it didn't seem to make sense to me unless like you said it was a lot of buffing and not a lot of checking the results...just add more polish and keep on movin!

I kinda like it.
If I was doing a continuous polish and had a helper wipe after me.
I can see this on top of a plan but not much more.

Looks to me that something like that would lend itself to a LOT of product waste. Anytime you are applying directly to the paint and not on the pad it sounds like a mess waiting to happen.
