This mess is a local trade in.....double UGH! I decided to start on the interior first as both bumpers are coming off for re-paint and the wheels are going for a full re-finish (gee, I never did get to see the owner of this ride).

So, here's some interior before/after

5 hours of cleaning later:

Wheels are being removed for refinish, so I won't even have to tackle this. The body is going to need several areas of wet sanding and a lot of System One Polish to correct.

Great work on the interior Toto!!!
I would not be surprised if they never cleaned the wheels. Those are nasty!!

What a waste. Ill never understand people like that.

Absolutely amazing job on that interior. OK, gotta ask. How did you get the seat belt clips/guides out?

Probably pulled the back seat out.

looking forward to the exterior new look..keep us updated yah...

Probably pulled the back seat out.

You are absolutely CORRECT! Except, with the newer model Bimmers, you can't pull the seat completely out of the car because of an electrical connection for the airbag sensors. If you break that connection, you have to take the car to the BMW dealer for a computer reset and they gladly take $150 of your money to do that. So, I lift the seat and am able to scrub the leather plus vacum the mess that fell in the bottom pan under the seat.

If you notice the driver's headrest, he paid for a set of headrests with built-in gaming consoles for his 2 boys...that's where most of the trash came from.

At least with BMW Lease Auction cars, they clean the engine, vacum most of the interior and seating and do a quickie once-over on the body.

I hate that. Audi has the same thing, learned that the hard way.

Finally got to start on the body yesterday. Wetsanded some scratches with 2500 grit and the headlight lenses with 2000 grit. Then, used System One Polish X3 and a wool pad followed by X3 and a foam pad.

Coming along nicely!

I've got a quickie to detail today: 07 Black X5 for delivery tomorrow...then continue to work on this car. The bumpers are at the painters, so a lot of plastic will be finished for me.

That car is in rough shape. No wonder they traded it in. I know you'll bring it back to life Toto.

Man......some people just drive, they don't give a rats a$$ about the car.
I love the fact that you do so complete work on cars and take the time to, I wish I had that opportunity.

Did a detail at work on a Mercedes C180 Kompressor with purple paint and grey (black looking) leather interior with 70000 km's and the way it looked.....took me 8 to 10 hours of work but they sold it in less than a week. If we had just done a quick wash and a vacuum clean the only customers would have been detailers.

Thanks for inspiration, there is never enough Toto-and that goes for the band as well.

Sincerely Daniel

Aaron thanks for the link. Would that be the Edge System at work there??

With the filth in the interior it is amazing what you did there . On the wood grain what did you use ? My Cadillac wood grain is losing some of its luster and I need to help it some . Recommendations ??

THAT IT WOULD!! Im the MANIn fact that is using the new Edge2000 Industrial adapter that we recently launched! You can see video on that and most of our products now on our website.

Dedication to Detail - The Edge Buffing Pads

We make that pad special for System One! Its a neat looking blend of our black and white wool yarns and it works GREAT!
