This Thursday night - Show Car Makeover - 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL


Tomorrow night, June 9th we'll be doing a show car makeover to the outside and inside of Bob and Darlene's classic 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL


We'll be going over machine polishing techniques with Wolfgang products including how to apply a ceramic coating. We'll also be using the Dupray steam cleaner to clean the interior.

I agree. The low mileage and the overall pristine condition makes this a real trophy car.

If the sun pokes its head out today I'll move the car outside and capture some sun shots of the current condition of the paint. I took a few the day it was unloaded but it was cloudy outside and I don't think the picture convey the accurate condition of the finish.

I'm confident the Wolfgang Uber Compound will remove anything that's safe to remove. There are a lot of RIDS in the hood and trunk lid. I'm going to measure the paint thickness and possibly do a little machine sanding to remove scratches the compound doesn't remove.


After polishing we'll strip the paint and apply the Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Paint Coating.

It looks like a great opportunity to learn something about coatings, Mike. Sorry that I just opened this message and am unable to be there tonight. I am recuperating from recent cataract eye surgery and cannot bend or lift anything for another week. I love German cars and hate to miss this one. Hope to see you and the team soon.
