As of right now my plan is to use PB EX-P topped with 845. I am wondering if EX-P is a good choice. How durable is this stuff, and is 1 coat of EX-P topped with 1 coat of 845 enough for a Chicago winter...? I really want to try BFWD or WGDGPS 3.0 but the cost is just not worth it to me.

Honestly I think you are better off with 2 coats of 845 and skip the EX-P. 845 is a great product with very good durability.

I agree with Jim. But I do believe Blackfire Wet Diamond is worth the money. It is cheaper than the Deep Gloss Paint Sealant as well.

Will 845 last 4-5 months?
Tough to say exactly how long it will last due to enviromental conditions, how often you wash..ect. I have had it last 6 months thru the winters in NE PA tho.

I agree. I am not a fan of EX-P. IMO it is difficult to work with and there are many other sealants with far better durability.

Poorboy’s EX-P paint sealant isn't a bad sealant and works surprisingly well. The product's easy to apply in sun or shade. Once buffed to a glossy shine it provides several months of protection. Even though this is a decent product it wouldn't be my first choice as a base for winter long protection..

Here are a few sealants that go the distance and when topped with Collinite 845 makes the finish nearly bullet proof...

  • Menzerna Power Lock Wax
  • Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
  • PRIMA Hydro-Seal
  • DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant
  • Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection

Hmmm, I did not realize klasse was on BOGO.... I think il give it a go

This...I have used the Menzerna's (which is probably the easiest to use sealant I've ever used), the Klasse, and the DP. I usually like to do two coats of the Menzerna and then top it with a coat of Collinite 915. I do plan on getting the 845 at some point. At any rate, the two coats of Menzerna and the 915 get me through the winter. I live in PA so we don't USUALLY have blizzard conditions but we do get a lot of ice and thus salt on the roads.
