I'm thinking about buying my wife a new BMW 328i Coupe. Does anyone here have one or have any experience with them?

And before everyone chimes in about it, no, I won't be getting the 335i! I'd rather get some extra options than shell out for the engine.

I heard that the Jet Black paint is awful to keep swirl-free, so metallic paint is on the list!

:)

I think its a nice car, havent tried it! But nice design! Considering Audi A5? I am a Audi man, so had to mention audi :p Good choice of car! :D

The Bimmer is one that I wouldn't hesitate to consider preowned.

LOL I was just about to say, be nice to your wife and get her a 335 :P

but my friend got a 328 as a grad gift and it is an amazing car!!!

One of my business partners buddies works a floor above us, he has a 335 sedan with 6 speed manual. I really like the car, didn't care for the looks at first but it grew on me especailly in silver. Drives great, but no lsd which is retarded for a car of that performance thats easily modded. Make sure you get the sport package b/c it actually still drives smooth, sport package before drove like a brick when you hit a bump (which I don't mind but your wife might), but they nailed a good balance on the new car.

But man those A4's and 3 series are cramped, even the sedan has little room in the back.

My gf has a 2004 325Ci and is very happy with it. They take care of all your maintaince for first 4 years/50k miles, which on german cars can cost a big penny.
If getting a 325, consider yourself looking into convertible. Now they are making hard top convertible, which is awesome!
And about new A5, not sure how it is in other states, but here in California they are for some reason difficult to sell...

How about a 335d coupé? That diesel engine is wicked, better than the regular 335. I'm biased a bit since I work with BMW but I second the opinion of the black paint, it's a major pain in the a@@ when it's new. I thought the coupé had a slight Hyundai touch on the lights back....then came along the A5 as a pure copy of the BMW.

Are you saying the Audi A5 is a copy of bmw coupe?

have you considered the 750?
Uhhh thats a big payment difference from a 328 coupe lol, our friends 750 is about 1200 per month lease. Though their running a special right now here for $899 a month with no downpayment on 750's for current BMW clients, now thats an excellent deal for that car but the catch is you have to be a current BMW client.

ACURA TL-S

acura guy here....

nevertheless, I really do like the styling on the new 3series. As you staed you wont be getting, i really think it would be worth it for the 335, twin turbo?? god, i can dream.

my buddy and i went and test drove one and its absolutely amazing. feels like a rocket ship.

either way, for the price/benefit, i would rather have a new tl-s with some ron jon wheels.

Well i own a 03 325ci, and i like it alot, i have also drove and ridden in a 328xi sedan, the 328xi felt so much diffrent than my car, it was a compleatly diffrent animal, the 328xi feels solid(my car does too, but the 328 is just like diamond), i mean you feel almost indestructable when you sit in it. I am sure that the 328 coupe is going to be similar, it is one hell of a bimmer and you will not be dissapointed!

My bro has a silver 2007 BMW 330i M sport and i have to say m8 what a car!!!! Lovly car to drive and its shape it's so sexy looking

Sounds like a lucky wife nomatter what, that coupe looks smooooth

Dont know if the new 1 series coupe is to be sold in the US, but that 135 is sick. Some smaller than the 3 series, but i thought it looked pretty good.

Haha, I just did, didn't I? I just read what I wrote.

Can`t say I agree on that one! Car can be a little similar, but not a copy. Its not mutch that is similar on the bmw vs audi. Just that they are both coupe, german and great cars ;)

Thanks for all the input guys! We were looking at the Audis as well, but I haven't seen the A5s here as of yet.

The 335i would be the dog's danglies, perhaps I'll see if I can find a certified pre-owned one? But for my wife, the 328i would be more than enough power-wise! However, if it was for me, then YES, 335i all the way! Also, I read that it's easier to bargain on the price on the 328i since it's not in demand that much.

We would get the sport package, it's only $1,000 and you get some nice wheels, sporty suspension and upgraded seats. Seems worth it!

I've never owned a BMW before, so looking forward to it! As I said, still shopping but perhaps when the right deal comes along, we'll bite!
