Time to “step it up” .... thoughts?

As for power washers.... a good purchase? Haven’t used one in years. Looked at some YouTube and saw kranzle. Yikes!! And there’s a guy selling a dolly for it for ONLY 500, lol.

Any recomdations on washers, if in fact I need one?

Their are definitely cheaper ($250) but I like that it’s electric, 2300 psi, Good brand, brushless motor. Great for auto detailing. Only semi complaint is low gpm to clean house. I did use to clean drive way and patio and was awesome for that!

I,can’t recall what size plate is on my UDM but my pads are 6.5”. Gonna maybe try smaller pads. Any backer plates that fit the porter cable should fit UDM right?

I’ll still use my UDM on my truck, and to polish glass with Klasse and a green pad.

I might actually enjoy the UDM with a smaller pad. Still gonna get another buffer though.

Yes, anything that fits the PC 7424 / 7424xp will fit the UDM.

It make a world of difference, not just in user experience and comfort, but in overall performance in regards to cutting and polishing.

Just measured my backing plate. Just over 4-3/4”. I use 6.5” pads with it. Maybe I’ll try 5.5” pads.

Many people will tell you that you really don't "need" one but it is great to have. I got the SunJoe SPX3000 for an anniversary present and the wife got a deal on it from BJ's Warehouse. I added a foam cannon and it doubles the fun. I really like it this time of year so I can blast the salt off the paint.

I would go with the Thin Pro pads on your UDM. Smaller diameter are better too.

Power washer is on the list, but gotta get the polisher first. I’m not getting a kranzle that’s for sure. And certainly not the 400 dollar wheeler stand for it, lol. Harbour freight, 9.95

I’ve used a foam cannon with a garden hose. Waste of money. Do they work better with a power washer ?

Foam cannon = Pressure washer
Foam gun = Garden hose

I bought the cheapest PW that Home depot sells in early 2018 and wish I had made the switch sooner. You get more than 2x the foam, and use less water. It's a win/win. I work out of my own driveway so I specifically do not want a loud gas PW. Electric is quiet and has more than enough pressure to wash a car. The same thing goes for a leaf blower. Electric is lighter and quieter.

You absolutely need a pressure washer with a foam cannon. A foam gun is used with a garden hose. Both are fun to use but the snow foam from the cannon is neato.

Using less water is another benefit and I would definitely recommend the electric version and 2000 psi is plenty of pressure.

Alright so I tried some 5.5 pads and it’s smoother now. I got some LC tangerine pads, and a 3” plate/pads as well.
Looks like this will tide me over for now!

Gotta restock chemical this year, and also a Pw. But..... the new LC udos look very nice

Good to hear. Smoother is easier and easier is more enjoyable!
