Hello Geeks...

As some of you know I open my new shop on Monday, with that said , would it be wise to buy a bunch of Meguiar's MF pads.

I ask this because I have a ton on pads, different sizes.
Would it give me some speed?
Time is money now:dblthumb2:
Thanks,
Kevin

I would since you will be working different cars/paints/polishes/etc...

I have the LC mf's and I like them for their speed/correcting ability and they leave a pretty good finish behind.

Just keep in mind the buffer speed needs to be slower then with the foam pads. I dont know if you have used them before or not. They are pretty good pads though.

Kevin you REALLY should jump on the microfiber pads (the 5" kit in fact). What's cool about the "kit" is you get the DEDICATED 5" backing plate from Meguiar's (which is a MUST with those pads) as well as the neat, 'no clog' bottles of both D300 and D301. Adding in the Meguiar's detailing apron as a 'freebie' is just a bonus.

Today, with the coupon code you can get that kit for $53 and change. I'd get two, (well I *HAVE* two already). ;) If I were you, I'd surely get two of the kits, some of the BEST MONEY YOU'LL SPEND!!!!! :dblthumb2: Not hard to pick up a few more pads later, but at least with the kits you'll have 4 cutting and 4 finishing pads. :D

As neat as 101 (and the older 105) are..... D300 is friggin' AWESOME, and is my go-to compound for some time now! (D301 is pretty schweet as well.)

As you've seen myself (and others I'm sure) say forever now, you can literally do an entire vehicle with 2~3 of the microfiber pads. Just keep cleaning them with air, and swap them out for cool pads and you literally can just keep going around the vehicle till it's done.

The side benefit of using them is after they are blown out well you really don't have to clean them every single time you use them either.:props: Whereas the foam pads you already know what a pita they are to keep up with, keep clean, keep dry, etc.

Thanks everyone.

CarDaddy, I think you and I discussed it before, if you like them that much I'm might as well get them. Lol

I e use MF pads before, not Meguiar's , always use speed 4, that using my GG6.
It seems everyone is using them.

You will like them. They work great on hard paint as well.

Kevin,

They are my go to often as well. I also have a set of Xtra Cut for those really bad cars. I use MF pads for one-step corrections often using M205 or Menzerna Intensive Polish. If I were you, keep at least a half dozen on hand. I clean often and use about 3-4 per job.

Thanks everyone.

The "kit" even comes with a poster that'll tell you what 'opm' you need to use for optimal performance. :props: (Keep one of them inside my towel cabinet, the other on a wall.)

Oh, and I didn't even mention how snazzy and *professional* you'd look wearing those Meguiar's aprons. :D (Although I like the material of my Rupes apron a bit better, even though it's not cotton, all polyester I think, but it's a lot 'slicker'.)

Snatched a few with the sale never used them going to give them a try as well.

Still didn't buy me a new apron but have one, just not jazzy looking nor professional.
I'm thinking of buying me an Autogeek apron and some of their shirts.
I also want one with my business name on it, Cajun Detailing, might even add a crawfish on it:dblthumb2:

Yesterday I bought me an electric pressure washer, my gas model is over kill and loud, it came with a Lance Foamer but looking for a nice foam gun for it.
Question, do they fit all electric washers or do I need an attachment ?
I also bought me a detailing cart made by Rubbermaid, very nice, big and very well made, I got it for $109.00 at Lowe's, stocked it up yesterday :dblthumb2:

Congrats on the shop, and best of luck and enjoyment to you!

The microfiber pads have changed the way I look at the modest Porter Cable machine. I've only ever used the blue and yellow microfiber discs, and was very pleased with them.

There will be a specific fitting on your particular pressure washer that you'll need.
Mine has the "Lavor" for instance. Just make sure to order your cannon with the right fitting on it, (as you get that one for free).

How To Select A Fitting For The Foam Cannon

Do you have a Northern Tool close by?
They have a LOT of nice carts, many under $100.
When I asked my family for one a couple Christmas's ago they thought I was nuts. Then after I got one they realized what a time AND BACK saver it was. :props:

Speaking of Lowes.
I'm thinking I'd like this one for polishing, maybe even washing. Could really help to have the 'bin' for towels.:dblthumb2: (I already have a mesh towel bin hanging from my other cart.)
Might could even put a seat on the lower part. Perhaps a swivel seat with a back rest would be cool. :dunno:

Now if only I could afford to spend $2K on a scissor lift!

Crawfish ya' say?
Hmmmm that reminds me, I have a slab of 'mud puppy' meat in the freezer that needs eatin' up. :D

Use an air compressor or damp microfiber to clean out after every panel. It will really help your results.

Go to the embroidery kiosk at the mall that does personalized hats

Bring your shirt with you

They can bang it out while you are dropping $100 at Sears

Not expensive

Art Hernandez had some items done....looks very Professional

I wear the polo when I am conducting negotiations and I figure if I don't end up sealing the deal. I can go apply at AT&T.

Then when the deal is sealed and I get to work. Then I throw on my apron.

^ Car I just did this past weekend.

I am going to get some stickers, but first I want to take legal ownership of my name. I found out how to do it too.
