My father has been using this Black&Decker 6138 rotary polisher more than 10 years ago and its been passed on to me (I've learned from this rotary and been using it for the last 5 years.)

Don't get me wrong on the brand name but I like this polisher to do most of my paint corrections and polishing. I feel like I'm missing out on the new ones (or latest one.) I just want an opinion if i should get a new one??

Any suggestions?Feed back please:pc7424::buffing:

This is just my opinion but, if you're getting great results with the one you have, I don't see the purpose of spending the money on a new one.

I will say i LOVE my Makita, and would like to get a Flex light weight eventually, but if it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Now if the newer one you're looking at has features that yours doesn't....and they're that important to you...go for it!

My other love is photography, and as we always say in that world, the photo is in the hands of the photographer, not the camera he shoots it with.

I've known a lot of people in many different hobbies/disciplines that always stay up on the newest and hottest tools and equipment, expecting them to be the magic bullet (I've been guilty of it before).....and they never took the time to master the basics with the first one they had.

I'm not making any claims about you, just tossing different ideas out there to think about. Your question was kind of vague .

Best wished to you, I hope everything works out with either choice you make.

lol, thanks sspundnick. I value your opinion. LOL, hey jarvis i was looking into a Makita...and a DeWault.

Well I pick up a Dewalt today. Tried 6 different places...out of the blue Napa Auto parts had it. lol, for 178.00.

Ah, its the same as my Black and Decker......only difference is that dewalt has an option of 1000RPM start out and mine is 1500rpm....same weight and all...i think imma stick with my machines....or get a Portal Cable just for polishing so i have two different machines...

Now does anyone knows what to do when the cords plastic starts wearing out like tearing apart. I really dont wanna tape it up..looks unprofessional but if i have to I will. lol.
