Maybe I'm getting old or something but when I see a vehicle with tinted windows so dark you can't see the person that really makes me angry. Is that weird or what?

What are they hiding? Who are they? I wanna know! Are they that insecure they have to hide?

I'm glad I'm not a cop, I'd be pulling them over all day checking their darkness levels. lol

Personally I like it to keep the sunlight down inside the car and I just like the feeling that people just can't see inside by looking idk privacy I guess. Plus on some cars it adds to the look.

im 29 years old. i have multiple reasons for having mine tinted that dark. i drive a 2007 chevy crew cab. i think the dark black tinted windows look good matched up with the white truck.

i dont have anything to hide, and i dont leave stuff in the vehicle (when i get out of my truck everything i had with me that day goes in the house with me) but since my windows are darker it makes me feel as if i am making it harder for someone to break into the truck. in my opinion if the person can "see" something they want inside the window they are more likely to try to get it..and like goldendodo19 said, it makes it allot cooler in the vehicle. i am very hot natured and light complected so any sunlight that doesnt hit me is a good thing.

I have tinted windows for many of reasons. To keep the heat down in the car. To have some shade for my 1 year old. Also to have security. People cannot look in and actually make out the items visually. Also the cosmetic part. after market tint looks awesome.

Helps with my sensitivity to light after LASIK

What's wrong with having better privacy and reduced interior heat and UV protection?

Lol ^

This is funny

I'll try to keep it simple.

Don't look at me and I won't look at you. (Kumbaya)

Here in So Cal where it is always sunny and hot it really does help to reduce some heat in the car. I've always had my windows tinted on every car I own!

I got pulled over, my car had the lightest tint possible. After getting pulled over. They told me that I am only allowed zero tint. Here in LA, CA.

The drivers and passengers side plus the windshield is allowed zero tint (if i remember correctly)

So I had to pay a fine, court etc.

All my cars are tinted. As of matter of fact I have never owned a car without tinted windows.

My car looks good with tinted windows.

They also help keep my black interior to a tolerable level in the Summer.
And my tints are at the legal limit for Illinois.

why would you start a post like this? There obvious reasons on why to tint windows-- heat, looks, privacy?

When I was a private investigator it was a necessity.

I have an all black car so having tint can be a lifesaver when my car sits in an open parking lot all day

Come down to Florida and live here for a year and then make that comment. And yes, it's weird that it bothers you that much. :poke:

Yeah, it's nothing personal to anyone when I see them, it just annoys me. Kinda like vehicles with loud mufflers. Or, diesel fumes. I get annoyed easy. I need some Zanax. :-)

Because it started an interesting forum thread. See, even you participated. B-)

You definitely need some xanax and some tinted windows Im the MAN

PS just because we posted doesn't make it interesting.

It's just an opinion in yet another useless off-topic post.

Anyway, I've been in vehicles with dark tinted windows and at night you can't see anything. I didn't like that.

To each his own.

BTW, I was watching the big car auction on Velocity TV today and it's interesting that nobody tints the windows of those nice looking cars. I guess not everyone thinks they look good, especially car collectors. Just watch those auctions and you'll see.

I think tinted windows is partly function for some but not as cool for car enthusiasts.

(shrugs) I personally would never waste my money unless I had vision sensitivities.
