I wanted to share a trick I use when vacuuming out my cars.

I have this vacuum:
http://www.amazon.com/Hoover-ProGrade-Garage-Utility-L2310/dp/B000289920

It comes with a pretty awesome 30' long hose, plus top quality attachments. With the 30' hose, I can reach anywhere in my 2 car garage, so I can climb into the car and go to town without worrying about repositioning a vacuum. However, when you're (up to) 30' away from the vacuum, it can be a real PITA to turn it on and off.

I had some of these remote control electrical outlet thingys sitting around that I picked up at Target when they clearanced all of their christmas stuff:

So now I have the vacuum plugged into one of these puppies, and I take the remote when I get in the car with the vacuum hose, and can achieve a new level of laziness! Not only do I no longer need to move a vacuum around, I no longer need to stand up and walk over to it to turn it on and off :D

Note: that vacuum fluctuates widely in price on Amazon, I have seen it go for as low as $135 all the way up to $180. In case someone wants to pick one up.

Sounds like a good tip IMO cause if you do this as a profession that time it take you to turn the vacuum on, and off waste time and money, thanks for sharing

I like its use that you suggested. Its easy to use and good cleanliness done by it.I not even before know about it.But its a useful thing for our cars.I appreciate for this. That is not ingenious. Its good.

This is perfect for vacuuming - love that it's for outdoor use as well! Gonna have to get myself one of those

Oh man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is genius! 13 amps...not sure if that will work with my vac but will check. If not, I'll be searching for a heavier one. Might even work with my extractor. . . hmmmmmmm

Just bought one! Now I'll be able to cut down on the walking miles

I got one of those several years back for my overhead fan. They're great!

Does the vac cord plug in to this and this into the outlet ?

Sent from my SPH-L710 using AG Online

That's a nice vacuum. When I get a nice garage in a few years I will definitely pick this up

Home Depot sell this for $15. I got one a week ago best $15 I've spent in a long time.
