Hi All,

I am the happy owner of a new to me 2014 Audi s4 with the ALU optics package (aluminum interior trim, and mirror covers). It also has some fairly dirty chrome exhaust tips

I have never had aluminum trim before. Ive been slowly detailing the interior of the car. I started with the leather using Wolfgang cleaner and then conditioner. Im now gowing over the non leather surfaces with Blackfire interior cleaner. Is there anything special i should be doing/not doing here?

As for the chrome exhaust tips, Should i just go at them with normal car soap, or is there a product i really should be using like chrome polish?

If your anal like most of us here..use a chrome polish. Never Dull roll pads are another good option. If they are really bad, 0000 steel wool and Mother's chrome polish will clean it up.

I am definitely anal. I watch detailing videos on youtube and get annoyed if i can still see any specs of dirt in the carpet. (even if the car was a barn fire before the guy started)
What is a good Milder polish?

For paint or for your exhaust tips?

Another vote for Never Dull on the exhaust tips. Just tear off a chunk and have at it. It doesn't get any easier than that.

I use a drill adaptor, many options. Never dull and simichrome are my go to.

Collinite #850 Metal Wax is another excellent option.

I've used P21S Polishing Soap on a couple of different exhaust tips with excellent results.

P21S Polishing Soap for me too.

Ive seen two products for Never dull, one by george basch and one by eagle one. Which one is the good one?

I ordered the nevr dull because im in the middle of moving, and it seems like an easy thing to use without needing other supplies.

This is exactly what I do. I'll always start with Eagle One Never Dull and then move to the 0000 steel wool and Mothers Aluminum and Mag Polish.

On my onld GTI Never Dull never worked on my tips and I always had to use the steel wool and polish. On my current BMW the Never Dull works great. Same situation with other cars I've worked on too. I keep both in my garage for just this reason.

I have some Mckees ceramic wheel coating sitting around, think that would work?

Perhaps but I quickly found that Q2 RIM is far better on wheels and metal. If you have it use it though.

I personally havent been impressed with the mckees, thats why i still have some. But i suppose its better than nothing.
