Hello AGO, I been detailing my own personal cars for about a year already in which to be honest I usually spend around 8-10 hours doing the work myself. I usually wash, clay, polish, seal, glaze, and wax my cars. I do use a Porter Cable 7424XP. Washing the car (with a foam and pressure washer) takes me about 20 minutes and about 5 to dry the car. I am wondering what can I do to speed my process and still get good results?:buffing:

Sounds fast enough to me, but what size car? I much slower than you!

I only wish I could complete a wash in 25 minutes. Generally speaking it takes me 2 hours(+) to wash, jams, wheels, fender wells, engine, clay and dry

It's always funny to me if I am mobile and the customer see's me still washing @ the 2 hour mark knowing they are being charged @ an hourly rate

When I a wash car everything get cleaned and takes me about 1-2hrs. Depends are car size and condition.

To be honest some people complain about the prices, only if they understood the process, the products it takes to achieve a diamond reflection, and as well the cost of each product. I was charging my friend $140 for a wash, clay, seal, and wax but he wanted me to charge him $80.00 for the job.

It also takes me about 2-3 hrs... wheels, foam, 2 bucket, door jambs, dry w/spray wax.

I get those calls on a daily basis it seems. I had a man last week come unglued when I told him how much it would be (estimated - site unseen)

With the rare exception I've found trying to get anyone over 40 to pay more then $100 is like pulling wisdom teeth. If I hear an old voice on the other line I can just about count on not landing that job

Hmm. I've never timed myself while washing but if I had to guess it would probably be in the 1-1 1/2 hour mark.
