I’ve been using the tuff shine for tires and big wheel woolie boars hair and detail brushes for ever. Recently tried new tire products and loving the small wheel mitts over brushes.

As for tires the new brush from the “car cleaning factory” dog walks the tuff shine brush for me.

More ergonomic, nice size head, softer bristles that clean better with less effort.

Got me thinking anything else new and exciting out there?

I used the Tuff Shine brush for a long time and never felt the need to change to something else. However, the DF version is simply better in every way. It's not light years better, but the small changes add up to nicely evolved product.







I like it so much that I bought a second one for cleaning rubber floor mats. The extra give in the bristles seems to be better at cleaning despite the softer feel.

 
Two others that are worth looking at -

- The Rag Company Ultra Utility Brush

If you have a simple or open wheel design, these are pretty handy for cleaning the wheel face.










These brushes are also great for applying a dressing to larger tires. Best used with runnier dressings (Diluted Perl, Duragloss 253, P&S Shine All ect.)






And these smaller wash mitts from TRC are brilliant! Perfectly sized and ultra soft. They are great for getting the back of the spokes as well.



 
I generally like the Tuff Shine tire brush but it always has felt just a bit too stiff. I'll definitely have to try out that Detail Factory brush (actually ordered it before I wrote this post).

Kamikaze Collection makes a really nice wheel brush that's softer than the usual Speedmaster style brush. It also has a nice grippy more ergo friendly handle. Nothing new but a slight refinement of a classic style wheel brush.
 
I'll have to check it out as well. I use the Tuf Shine brush as well.

Also use the small mitts, which seem to be available from Speedmaster, TRC and TCG. I rinse them out in between wheels in my wheel bucket with some RW in it.
 
i think most of it's been covered here by both coatingsarecrack and DFB. if i had painted wheels, i wouldn't use a brush (to clean the face of the wheels) on it, i feel they scratch and just don't feel safe doing so (to each his or her own). i currently use the flexi (four finger half wash mitt) wool mitt (other wheel microfiber mitts would be another good choice) and wheel woolies to clean painted wheels. if i were using a brush to clean the face of the wheels to knock off the majority off the (topical loose) dirt off before coming in with a wheel mitt (to thoroughly clean them), i would use the curveball brush..

btw, i've noticed the wheel woolies keep increasing in price (currently over $50-$60 a set). with that said, the brush below is another alternative for around $15. may or may not last as long as the woolies, but can't really complain for the price...

Red Max shine for the tyres stiffer type to really get in there and clean the rubber,
Typical brush for the faces, and for the spokes a generic microfiber cloth.
 
I'm thinking of picking up a soft 9" flagged tip nylon utility wheel brush but in a week i will just use up some older towels. It should make cleaning the face quick and simple. I was looking at the wash mitts but the less i have to put my hands in water/product the better. I live in a rather cold place.

When it’s cold out I use nitrile gloves and I fill my buckets up with warm water from inside the house. Works pretty good until you get water down in the glove, which is usually immediately.

Another added benefit of a wheel brush is the ease of keeping it clean. And really for a DIYer one decent brush should last for years.
 
Great brush, i was looking at it earlier for the first time. Expensive however...
 
They get better with age. I had one years ago. I just got mine and the price was fair. (here)
Some people are asking close to $50

Anyone try the Meguiars wheel barrel brush?

Also looking for something to get at brake calipers.

Angled wheel woolie looks alright. Might try the woolie worm it just for that.

Any other suggestions?

I have the med. one. It is not a bad tool for wheels. Overall, i like the Speedmaster better.
