Tire Cleaner suggestions

OPC, it works the best and is safe on everything. Also can be diluted and still works better than some undiluted products.

Another vote for Eagle One which is on sale for $3.50. Stores like AAP, OReillys, AZ and Napa very often will run a 2 for $7 on the Eagle One products.

Powerclean (diluted 3:1) costs $.07 per ounce. Even Eagle One at $3.50 cost $.15ounce. So in reality Powerclean is cheaper...

Now the Megs APC will be cheaper, but it doesn't work as well, so you will use more, or not dillute it as much. That means the cost will go up since it doesn't go as far.

Best tire *only* cleaner performance and price wise hands down is Zep Industrial Purple at 4:1 available at Homedepot for $10 a gallon. Works the same as OPC @ 3:1(on tires) and is several times cheaper. It just doenst have the nice smell optimums has.

Inexpensive for a lot of people might include cost per ounce as well as initial cost of product. I'm not sure if the OP meant both but if he did Eagle One is a great route since it is merely a $7 investment for two bottle that will also clean wheels. I know for me, since I just do my cars and don't have a business, I don't want gallons of stuff that will last me for years and years. Initial cost is very important to me and price per ounce takes a back seat. Now only the OP can truly reply what he exactly means by inexpensive.

Bleche-white available at most mass retailers. It's cheap and good.

Have to be VERY careful with Bleche-White. I have a car with polished billet aluminum wheels and it makes spots on them every time, that need to be polished off. I always wash when wheels are cool. On my every day driver, with coated wheels, it works fine.

Just need to be careful!

I don't see it being obvious at all. Just because he says inexpensive means nothing.
The OP asks for an inexpensive tire cleaner and you point him to one of the most expensive. Sure it can be diluted to suit many needs. You can probably wash your dog with it, that will bring down the cost per oz. even more, but that's not what he asked for.
If someone asks for some inexpensive car to get to work. You don't answer with , "Have you considered an M3, it will work better than a Civic."

I hated the smell of this at fist...now im wishing OPT comes out with a OPC scented air freshner! Seriously to the OP....OPC is a great tire cleaner and has many, many uses both automotively and in the household! Bleche-white(or however you spell it) is very good also but just don't breath it in and avoid your rims with it.

OPC is amazing for removing grease ie tar removal, engine detailing, but for me it suxs as a tire cleaner, still leaves a the brown residue and I have to go over it twice.
Honestly I dont get it. I spilled some oil and nothing I used, APC+, Super degreaser cleaned up the mess like OPC did.
Detailing my engine this weekend OPC took off stuff APC+ didnt.

For whatever reason is doesnt work well at all on tires for me. I use megs APC+ on tires and wheel wells.

The OP asks for an inexpensive tire cleaner

Still don't see where its so obvious that hes on a budget. I have plenty of money but I still look for the cheaper deals. Hell that's the reason why I buy OPC...

Understood, lets not make this thread another slap fight.

im new to all of the options out there, ive always used mothers, but i just used this(as opposed to turtle wax ice) and i love it. i hate the glossy look, and the mothers does not get shiny. rather just a "clean" look. on a side note, i never had any browning issues with ice as well as the mothers.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in...mothers wheel and tire cleaner foam is amazing and cheap def worth trying
Best regards

You got me there! I hearby advise him not to use OPC on his Veyron....:dblthumb2:

I should never start and arguement with the most interesting man in the world...stay thirsty my friend.

Yea, I really like it from what little i've used. I diluted it 3:1 and it works well. Safe for all wheels and can be used on wheel wheels and tires. If you dilute it 8:1 it can even be used on paint!

I was looking for an economical solution to clean wheels. All the other non acidic cleans like P21S and Sonax are almost the price of this gallon and are not suppose to be diluted either!
