Tire cleaning opinions... products used?

Top of the Line HiTemp Tire Cleaner, Hands down the best for Tires & WheelWells. Cheap and effective! Use a cleaner specifically for tires, APC's/Wheel Cleaners only go so far.
I like several of TOL's products, I just wished Autogeek carried them! :(

Well I ordered a gallon of Optimum Tire Dressing. Might as well spend another $12 over the small bottle and get the gallon!

Gotta agree, I love AG products, but TOL's tire cleaner and Grape tire dressing, I don't think I've ever seen a bad review for them. Both are cheap as well, seems everyone who tries them loves them.

Why can't AG carry Hi-temp products? Is there an exclusive agreement between TOL and Hi-temp or smoething? I'd by EVERYTHING from Autogeek if they carried Hi-temp products, but as it is, I have to make seperate orders and pay shipping twice! :(

Hi temp products:confused:

Not sure if I am confident enough to place money on it..but....I believe TOL and Hi Temp are the same situation as Pinnacle and AG.

Happy with simple green

Do you also suggest Simple Green 10:1 for engines? Or Should I order Megs Super Degreaser?

I use Simple Green. I have used it on engines and tires. Works great. 10-1 ratio. I also use it in the house for general cleaning. My dad loves this stuff, after I gave him a quart of it. Someone suggested Armor all. I would never use again. Why because it magnifies the suns rays. Two years of use I see micro cracking in my trucks tires! Some manufacture say in owners manul not to use Amor all. 303 is recomended by all the tonneau manufactres. I use it also it has a UV protectant. I never used the Purple I have heard it is good!

Product line carried by TOL.

Weird though...TOL used to have Pinnacle Line but just checked and the only had a few items and said the line was being discontinued??

Would be great if TOL Grape Tire Dressing and Cleaner were sold at AG though.

That must have been years ago, Armor All switched to a waterbased formula awhile ago, I use their Tire Foam and Gel constantly. There were issues years and years ago with a few products.

Might have been for the manufactres side, dealing with interior! However not on the tire side I stand by what has happened to me! Noticed the small cracking after a year. Will not use it any more. I love 303 because it has a sun block. Imagine we have sunblock at different levals for us in coppertone, Hawaian Tropic etc. Why not for a car? 303 has done that. I will be happy to send you my ArmorAll. Notsure what I have left. My dads friend has a 1953 Corevette with original tire. He will not use any of it. Because of the sunblock!

No, b/c you'll send me the old crap:D. Their Interior product again years and years ago was actually recalled. They switched to a waterbased formula a long time ago and no issues arose again. The old stuff sucked, new stuff is nice. I have 303 and Optimum Protectant, both rock, but on tires 303 doesn't last more thena day or two on my suv and gone if it rains. If you run low on 303 try some Opitmum Protectant Plus, works excellent on everything from leather, to trim, to rubber etc.

I was born and raised in South FL, my skin has natural sunblock built it :D

Nope it is only two years old. I use 303 on Tonneau cover and interior still only one the tonneau manufactures recomend, Yes does not last on tires. Will have to try Opitmum Protectant Plus. Thank you for that. I like Armor All cleaner though an no 2-3 years old on armor all for interior. 303 in that case works better. Never got recall notice. However simple green rocks as a cleaner.

Y'all ever tried Krud Kutter? It's a degreaser/cleaner, a lot like Simple Green or Greased Lightning, but seems to work a lot better (for me anyway). It is also totally biodegradeable and non-toxic. You can buy it at Home Depot and Wally World. I use it on everything from my wheels & tires, to my kids outdoor plastic toys, to my BBQ grill. Give it a whirl, it's short money, too. Just my 2 cents worth.

Cheers and great forum, btw...

I use DP Wheel Gel with a tire scrubbing brush. Works wonderfully on both wheels and tires.

Anyone else here use greatly diluted Murphy's Oil Soap with a cheap nylon sponge? Works great for me.

MY MECHANIC USES THAT........looks good......75% water/25% murphys??

Yeah, about that or even less. I use a wee dram per bucket; just rinse well after and dress as soon as dry. I careflly clean and lay up the snow tires every season. They barely need a wipe to remove dust in the fall.
