does anyone know the best way to clean the tire dressing applicator pads

All Purpose Cleaner under warm water.

Most of us don't clean them, we use them until they are too gunky and then throw them away. If you clean your tires well before dressing, there will be less black gunk in the applicator, but they will still get that way eventually.

I keep mine in baggies until they wear out or otherwise not worth using. Many dressings do not dry out so not like the applicator hardens like a wax or something.

Also... I usually use old polishing pads cut into pie slices for tire applicators. Throwing them away isn't a problem then
