Hello everyone, I am building my cart for my next AG order and I am stuck on which tire dressing to choose and was hoping for everyone's help.

My main concern is that it doesn't sling.
2nd would be durability.
3rd I do like the "shiny" look so that is also on my list.

I have these in mind

Optimum Opti Bond Tire Gel

Ultima Tire Trim Guard

http://www.autogeek.net/ultima-tire-trim-guard.html

Chemical Guys VRP Tire Dressing

http://www.autogeek.net/vrp-dressing-gallon.html

I called AG customer service and they said between those 3 to go with Ultima. They also recommended

Pinnacle Black Onyx

http://www.autogeek.net/pin-802.html

Also I would like to buy a gallon but have been considering buying all 3 of the smaller sized to test them all out :D

Thanks everyone for reading and your help.

Vrp has the shiny look and is surprisingly very durable. It beads water and doesn't lose all it's shine after a wash. Can't speak for the other two but I think vrp wins for shine

When optimum opti bond is applied to a bone dry tire with a paint brush, it works out great, water based and can be used on trim too!

I have tried Opti-Bond and Pinnacle Black Onyx

I prefer Opti-Bond, but they are pretty close in all objective measures

I would suggest adding a free sample of the Pinnacle, Wolfgang & Blackfire to each of your next orders

On a Continental and Michelin tires, I have tried both Optibond,UTTG, and TufShine. Optibond - consistency is like a lotion/cream - does not sling if properly applied (anything dressing excessively over-applied will cause some sling imo). UTTG - consistency like an oil - the visual effect to me was barely noticable. Tufshine - consistency like skim milk - will beat them all in that it definitely doesn't sling, and in durability. The downside is Tufshine takes more prep time.

Tuf Shine tire coating. I have been using 1z Vinyl-Rubber, but not impressed with the durability.

Tuff shine, it's work in the beginning to get everything prepped and cleaned but worth it in the end.

I actually considered Tuff Shine. So it's permanent but fades after sometime? I was considering Tuff Shine when I get new tires on my car. Which seems pretty soon actually. :)

Art think of it like clear coat or anything for that matter. The more time exposed to the sun the more it will fade over time.

I've had it on my car for 3 months now and it still cleans up like the day I applied it. Even when the car is filthy (by our standards) ppl comment on how the tires still look shiny.

Thank You, I will go this route when I get my new tires probably next month. I am assuming that once Tuff Shine is applied I can always top them after they start fading? I might just get the small bottles to toy around with for now and go the Tuff Shine route to apply more of a permanent dressing on my new tires.

:thankyousign: Everyone :dblthumb2:

That's correct, just apply another coat. Also, the more coats you apply the shinier it gets. You can adjust the look to your preference.

For the money it's very hard to beat CG'S Super VRP.
Water based, dries to the touch in seconds and doesn't sling, I know too well:)
I use it on my black car, first time used it I went for a drive a few minutes after applying it, when I returned I inspected my paint and was still flawless, zero slinging. :)
As I said the price is hard to beat plus to can dilute it 50/50 and not lose anything, like getting two bottles at one great price, one more thing, a littles goes far.
Also you can control the shine, want less apply one coat, want more apply until you get your desired look.
Check it out:)

I'm a fan of the Opti-bond. Been using it for a few years now. It looks nice, lasts for a good amount of time and doesn't spin off the tires.

I know it's not on your list, but another vote for CarPro PERL. It's got pretty good durability, doesn't sling if applied thin, and imparts a great look that I think you'd like.

Ultima is going to be a matte look, so while it will probably last the longest, I don't know if it will give you the look you want. Never tried VRP, but I'm sure there are some reviews with pictures that you can look at. I used Opti-Bond before switching to PERL, and wish I would have switched sooner. I feel like PERL is a better version of Opti-Bond.

I've tried the house offerings for all the tire shines - Pinnacle, Wolfgang, and BlackFire. I think they all underperformed, in my eye, and would have much preferred any of the three others you asked about. Hope this helps!
