Tire Dressing

A bit on the expensive side and a pretty small can but the Meguiars Ultimate Black tire coating works pretty well. I think the claim of 4 weeks is stretching it a bit though.

Meguiars Hyper Dressing diluted 1:1
Soaks into the rubber and dries to the touch. Always the perfect finish.

A good friend of mine loves that product. Ive never tried it yet. Ive been stuck on megs m40 applied with a 3 inch paint brush. Yields the same results imo as you say you do with megs hyper. Never browns or slings:D

M40 works well… Consider using a flag tipped brush. You might like how it works vs. a paint brush.

I will have to try that. How well does it work for cutting in around the wheel? I like that i dont have any clean up on the wheel surface with a brush

Another vote for the Duragloss 253.

Unlike the Optimum Tire Gel and CarPro PERL I've used recently, it will survive contact with moisture. Even in dry conditions it lasts longer for me. I can't wait to use up my PERL supply so I can go back to using 253 again.

I'm waiting to use up my PERL too so I can get 253. I'm pleased it comes in a gallon size.

In line with the old saying that "Even a blind squirrel can find a nut" , the very first and only tire product I have purchased from AG is DG253.

Using a flag-tipped brush to apply tire dressing is the bees knees, definitely one of the best tips I have picked up from this forum (thanks Eldo ! :xyxthumbs:).

To answer your question specifically, it works very well for cutting in around wheels. The best analogy I can think of is how a sash paint brush works when you are cutting in trim, etc.

Another vote for Duragloss 253. Looks great and lasts through rain.

If I wasn’t using a tire coating on my car,I’d be using DG253. That’s what I use on my wife’s and son’s vehicles. And I agree, using a flag tipped brush to apply is one of the best tips I’ve learned here. All of the other tips I learn about here cost me way too damn much money.

For me it's always been megs hyper dressing

I've only ever used Turtle Wax and Meguiar's tire dressings. M40 has been the consistent favorite since 1996.

Last summer I tried Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel, and their Tire and Rubber Coating. The gel is absolutely excellent. Easy to apply, lasts long enough, and isn't as messy as some I've used in the past. The coating.... I applied it to my gf's old truck back in June, and it's still alive and kickin. I bought her truck so I should be able to see when it falls off. I didn't do as good a job cleaning the tires on her Jeep, but the coating is hanging well on those tires as well.

Am honorable mention would be Meguiar's Ultimate Tire Coating.

Well tried the flagged tip brush method today…. Wow! That was nice and easy. I usually spray the tire down then wipe down with old microfibers but this was really nice especially for a larger truck tire.
