I use a tire dressing applicator I found at a local discount store for about $1.50.

It has a plastic handle and a rectangular sponge that is almost the exact width of the sidewall on our SUV's tires. It works well on any profile tire and seems to be really durable.
 
PERL is what I use. Like it for its versatility too. Haven't gotten to use many of these other products mentioned yet
 
One day will have to try the Tuff Shine, and the Perl.

I do use Optimum Opti Bond, and like it.

One product I rarely see mentioned here, and bought a pint of on a past AG order, was Optimum Tire Shine. This stuff is great too, wish I had bought a gallon.
 
I asked my estimator uncle which tire dressing he preferred that are currently on my car

PERL
VRP
Opti Bond Tire Gel
and
Meguiar's Detailer Tire and Trim

He said he is a fan of the shiny look so he picked PERL. He also said that the VRP Dressing makes the tires look like they are brand new. (Which they are not)

I agree the VRP does make them look new.

As of now undiluted I prefer VRP. But not sure how the other dressings look diluted. I am testing their longevity so don't want to take off the dressing as of now.

All tires have 2 coats of dressing and all are undiluted. For what's it's worth...

Here's a couple shots of the results I once got with Optimum Tire Shine on the Michelin LTX Tires. This was two coats.

Believe it or not, they were dry to the touch. Came out extremely glossy this one time I used it. Usually it is not that glossy.

I myself actually don't like them that slick looking, like the Megs Endurance Gel, prefer a more matte natural finish like in Hernadez's pics above. One coat with the Optimum Tire Shine gives a more natural look.

I, too, like the Optimum Tire Shine. I have never gotten a shiny appearance with it; it has always given me a natural, matte look.
 
If I had to choose one based on looks. I'd go with Chemical Guys VRP because it makes them look new and my tires are older.

wow that optimum tire shine is super glossy...

After applying a tire dressing what kind of wax should I use? What's the best wax out there? LOL

FWIW I really like using CG silk shine for a satin look that will fade in a week to provide a matte look. Two coats on a clean tire will look black for awile and not in a greasy way. In my experience using it on bot my Pilot and 4runner it beads water also. My next favorite that is basically the sme thing is Griots vinyl and rubber dressing.

Now that that's settled what's the best shampoo for my car?
 
I have an applicator pad that works perfect with most dressings including the Meguiar's D170 Hyper Dressing.
I also use a "Purdy Paint Brush".
It's a 2 1/2" brush, I simply spray the Hyper unto the brush and begin to work it , after I lightly come over it with the pad.
Amazing results.

One thing I love about the Hyper Dressing is it gets into the fine lines of the tire without having to work it much.
The gallon will last me throughout the summer easy so I can spend my money on something else:)

I like Optimum Car Wash Soap, but have been wanting to try something else that is around the same price range but also high quality as optimum seems to be.

I like the Chemical Guys Super VRP too.
In case one doesn't know you can save some money by diluting it 50/50 and not lose anything, I tried it straight and diluted and could not tell a difference whatsoever. :dblthumb2:
