Tire Gloss

I use Megs Endurance tyre gel and it lasts all week till I wash the car again. Be sure to clean the tyre really well before applying any tyre dressing. you want the rubber to be able to absorp the dressing, not just have it sit on top

Now when you say it lasts a week do you mean when you wash the car it washes off and your left with a tire that's dull black at best or light brown at worst?

I mean it will certainly last a week, then I wash the car, so I do the tyre with APC again, then I reapply. haven't left it on longer, but through all the crappy rainy weather here, it lasts...

Meg's Hyper Dressing is water based and has a higher shine.

Only last like 3 to 5 days. Its cheap cause you can dilute it. But ultima tire and trim and optimum opti bond are my favs

PERL straight will beat anything for high gloss. Period.

I have tried almost 15 different kinds of tire dressings...all have slung or just doesn't last long at all.

From Here i would say Ultima Tire....Lasts several weeks on a daily driver (Wife's Jeep) and through several washes.
Has no shine just deepens the Black on rubber.

But for me nothing comes close to Zaino's Z16 Tire dressing.
The more coats you apply the glossier it gets. and no slinging.
It does NOT last as long as Ultima Tire.

Good luck

Which is perfect for me I dont like the oily high gloss look on my cars. But customers love that stuff. I actually love af satin tire gel as well

If the only reason why some Detailer's do not like the "shiny tire look" is because they just don't like how it looks. Then it is just a matter of preference.

I am assuming most customer's like it because they do not know what swirls are or look like and for them shiny tires is to show off that they just got there car detailed. IMO

meguiars endurance has never slung on me....even after just letting it sit for only 5 minutes. nice shine...and endurance is easily 2 weeks + even with a wash in between

I might just try perl though....just because a month and a half is hard to beat lol

Call me crazy but I still like shiny tires. IMHO I find matte tires on a highly polished car just bring the whole look down.

I haven't found a water based tire product that looks great yet and I've tried them all. GTechniq's one is pretty good though and seems to last a long time.

Also, am I the only one who gives the tires a wipe down after the product dries? I never had any of the products mentioned sling ever since I started doing this.

Curious on what other dressings you've tried because I've tried well over 10 different dressings available on AG and none have slung on me.

I have thought about topping my Meguiar's Detailer Tire Trim Gel with Some Meguair's Hot Shine lol

Topping tire gel does net a good build up as it end up working its way into the rubber, as long as you clean the top layer to some degree this is a great idea for your tires!

I would like to jump in this discussion. I am also in search of a gloss sheen tire dressing for my personal truck. I use Meguiars Endurance or Hot Shine on customers vehicles mainly because they like the shine.

I have the Endurance gel which I apply via applicator. I have noticed a little sling though. I noticed that this stuff contains petroleum dissilates, so not sure if it could actually "hurt" the tires. The bottle does state it will NOT brown and it contains UV protection.

I tried the blackfire total eclipse spray and was totally unimpressed. Dried very fast, no sheen. I even applied two coats with applicator. Tires were very clean also.

Im also trying to understand the fight between water based and solvent based dressings. I know water based dressing will not last very long. Solvent based last longer and stays shiny. I haven't really read a definite answer where solvent based dressings will "harm" your tires?

I would think a reputable company like Meguiars would not manufacturer a product that would harm your vehicle.

For your above quote, try PERL straight. No sling, super high gloss.

Silicone dressings tend to sling and are very hard to clean and attract dirt and stuff more so than water based dressings. I don't think it damages any tires though.

I have the Hyper dressing now. This stuff is very very nice. I mixed mine one to one. Very nice sheen. Went on well with a foam applicator.

Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet. No sling (apply thin), very high gloss, 2-3 weeks durability.
