My dealer put these:

tire pressure gauge caps on when i bought my car. Today i went to my dealer for oil change and asked him if they work fine or not since i was very spectale as they never turn yellow or red and always stay green. My dealer told me they work fine but they r not good for valve or something as it might rust? I didnt exactly understood what is the disadvantage of using them. And he suggested me to take them off and just use tire gauge. Looking forward to replies.
Thanks

There is a problem with these caps working in conjunction with a TPS system in newer cars. Differences in metal composition can lead to premature rust and eventually corroding the TPS sensor.

I would advise against using those anyway, i worked at a tire company in the past and many of the flat repairs that we performed were do to leaking from those caps.

^^^ This!!

That's a $120 mistake. Don't ask me how I know. . .

I would not recommend any metal valve stem cap, period. They do infect rust and weld themselves to the valve stem.

I used a set of metal caps on my 1995 Tacoma. The cap would not come off. I took it to a garage when I had a tire go down. The guy there asked me "what idiot put these on"? and I said "I did!" needles to say, I have not had to say that since that day.
