Tire Shine Application: Favorite Method and Why

Even Kitchen Sponges aren't cheap anymore, at least that's what I seen at Wally World the other day. Horrendous!

Might have to check the Dollar Store, but it seems all these places are putting the major squeeze on shoppers.

you'll be amaze of what you can find in the Dollar store.. A Dollar store in my area was selling a package of 6 tire applicators for $2. I picked up about $20 worth. Large Zip Lock bags.... Package of 12 for $1. etc. etc.

I guess that's one area where I have an advantage over you - a kitchen sponge costs less than $0.50 over here, and I can cut that to three, four pieces.

(It's usually the other way around, at least for detailing supplies - the local Meguiar's distributor has a 300 to 400% markup vs US prices - to the point where it makes more sense to buy items from the US, then pay for sea freight shipping, as against buying locally).

For the guys looking for a tyre CLEANER, try Meguiars Super Degreaser @ 4:1 & a stiff scrub brush.
Use it on my personal cars & it's great...

+1....Use this on most of my Customers rides and it works very well. Quick scrub after the DG and they are nice and clean.

Then I just use Meg's Water Base. I use 50/50 for just a little sheen to the wheel wells, then a mixed down a bit less for general maintenance detailing without getting to glossy, and a lot of my show car Clients like full strength to get the deep rich glossy look.

Applicators:

Cheap sponge for 50/50, 2" paint brush trimmed back to about 1 1/2" for maintenance, and full strength spray on direct, let it soak in for several hours and lightly sponge excess.

And the end result:
