I have and have used it before and the shine is very controllable. Want more shine after you've laid down a base coat, just add a little more and keep swiping.

Another product that you can "turn up the wick" on is Pinnacle Black Onyx (original formula) It goes on fairly wett to begin with but after it dries for about 15 minutes go ahead and apply a little bit more and start swiping!
